Ras Kutani Lodge

Ras Kutani Lodge is situated only 35 km south of the port of Dar es Salaam and offers the perfect hideaway on this beautiful coastline. The lodge sits beside a fresh water lagoon providing calm waters whatever the tide, and fantastic snorkeling opportunities. Ras Kutani provides an escape from the outside world, a dreamy environment for visitors to relax in hammocks on their private bamboo banda veranda, in the bar or on the beach; it is without doubt one of Tanzania's finest beach hideaways.

Perched on the hillside and offering definitive privacy, are four secluded suites. Steps from the main building take guests deeper into the coastal forest, to their own secluded hideaway, where the only company you have are the chattering monkeys. The cascading panoramic view down to the ocean is the quintessential tropical backdrop to the private plunge pool and array of outside seating. The interiors are lusciously spacious and when the morning tea tray arrives, lie back in the vast Sultan double bed and let your eyes drift across the fluttering white curtains towards the azure seas below.

The nine beach cottages are scattered on either side of the main building, all with ocean views and gentle breezes. Under the thatch, a spacious veranda unfurls with comfortable kikoi seating and lazy-making hammocks. The hard wood shutters lead through to the beautifully decorated interiors; the majestic double bed and fan surrounded by a billowing mosquito net and on to the generous en suite bathroom.

        Family House

The perfect way to end a family holiday is a stay at the family house. As the name suggests, it too is situated above the main camp with blissful sea views. The house comprises of two spacious en suite rooms, linked by an expansive terrace with built in seating; an ideal space to swap holiday stories and enjoy each other’s company. The family house has two interconnecting bedrooms, a shared living area and stunning 180 degree sea views.

Fruits of the Indian Ocean and succulent Pan-African cuisine are prepared on a daily basis by the lodge's master chefs. The wholesome food is delicious, with plenty of salads and fresh fish.

The main emphasis at Ras Kutani is pure relaxation; after an adventurous safari circuit, kick back and ease into the barefoot luxury of the beach retreat, but various activities are offered to complement our unique location. Activities include swimming in the pool, spa, snorkeling, kayaking, forest walks and much more.
