Kusini Camp is placed in the centre of a group of kopjes in the Serengeti, a short drive away from the game-rich wilderness that dominates the Great Migration and which otherwise wander around the plains. It features 12 en-suite tents with showers and private, furnished verandas. Dining is taken privately as a bush meal or under candlelight in the dining tent, where one may mingle with other guests. Meals are gourmet specialties from the camp’s chefs. After indulging sit back and sip on a cocktail while reading at the camp library.
Your own private Serengeti...Perfectly sited in a cluster of kopjes, Kusini is a permanent tented camp blended seamlessly into the delicate environment of the predator-rich plains of the Serengeti. The surrounding short grass plains provide the setting for the most spectacular natural phenomenon in the continent of Africa, the wildebeest migration, during which time the hordes amass around the camp for the birthing of their young. The migration comes with its own retinue, and the predators - lion, leopard and cheetah – plus countless zebra, gazelle and other plains game add to a diverse eco-system that evolves around you during your stay. Perhaps surprisingly, Kusini sits exclusively in this remote region of the Serengeti, affording guests the rare opportunity for secluded game drives well away from the principle tourist circuit. Kusini's expert guides enhance your stay by sharing their knowledge and experience gleaned during a lifetime in the bush.
Secluded amongst the rocky outcrops of this private swathe of paradise, Kusini's twelve tents feature ensuite bathrooms with showers and elevated terraces overlooking the Serengeti plains. Few properties pay homage to the surrounding environment with the same breathtaking effect as Kusini, effortlessly ensuring an exclusive proximity to the Africa that you have come to see, far from the crowds that might be expected to throng to so unique a destination.
The tents are scattered around the main Kopje and each attended by a personal butler. The en-suite facilities are equipped with hot and cold running water. Take advantage of the private verandahs, which have comfortable furnishings that extend in front of each unit. The camp uses inverted electrical energy.

The area around Kusini is noted for its lion and cheetah populations as well as excellent leopard sightings. Game viewing is superb throughout the year as there are large resident populations of predators, giraffe, buffalo and other plains game in the area immediately surrounding Kusini. Nearby sites such as the Moru Kopjes are also renowned for good resident game. The Serengeti Ecosystem is defined by the dominant annual wildebeest migration route and incorporates areas outside of park boundaries.
The area around Kusini Camp is visited by the Migration between the months of January and April but it should be noted that this is a grazing pattern and therefore experienced in the general area for this period. The season between January and March greets the arrival of newborn zebra and wildebeest calves.
Aside from game drives you can also enjoy sundowners, beautiful cosmic safaris, bush breakfasts, picnics and dinners.
