Mbalageti Serengeti Camp features luxury tented chalets as well as lodge style standard rooms on the slopes of the rising Mwamweni Hill. Each room type is equipped with all the utilities of home, such as an en suite bathroom and a veranda with a stunning view. Dining takes place both in the bush, privately or with small groups, or in the dining tent, where local and continental cuisine forge new roots. English tea is served in the gardens with pastries daily. Activities range from spending some alone time in the loft reading books to a relaxing float in the tranquility pool, with the Serengeti plains as the backdrop.
Each of the chalets has been designed with attention to the smallest detail and features a bathroom with luxury amenities. Pamper yourself in the bath while you enjoy a spectacular view across the plains. The chalets are furnished to make the stay as comfortable, special, and memorable as can be. The private veranda with its cooling thatch roof is a private oasis and works as an extension of your bedroom into the wild.
With a little extra of everything and a private outdoor bath, the suites offer the most exclusive safari living. Nature and luxury are in perfect harmony through design and comfort. Each suite features two separate bedrooms with en suite bathrooms. A large main area houses lounge, dining area, and a lounge veranda. The suites are the perfect accommodation for the more exclusive safari traveller.
Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are served in the restaurant. Enjoy the finest cuisine while taking in panoramic views of the Serengeti. The dedicated Chef and his team are at hand to serve you a meal with influences from both the local and Continental Cuisine. The bar situated in the centre of the main building is a natural meeting place and the heart of the lodge. This is where you can compare your day’s game experience while being served the drink of your choice. In the Tea Garden, high tea is served with a home baked selection of pastries every afternoon. Try a luxury Safari English Bush Breakfast on the banks of the Mbalageti River, across the Swing Bridge, or finish your day on a unique site under an Acacia Tree where you can enjoy a Bush Dinner. Live cooking and rustic pot stews all enhance the bush experience at Mbalageti, but you can also experience the Dutwa Plains and enjoy a sundowner with drinks and snacks.
The swimming pool is made out of local rocks and is situated on the edge of the hill. With a 360 degree view of the Serengeti, the pool offers the ideal opportunity to cool off after a hot and dusty game drive. Complimentary lemonade and fruit kebabs are served by the pool side. Private or Couples Massages on the guest’s chalet veranda are also available. Sit back and relax at a cozy corner on the second floor lounge loft in the main building. Board games, puzzles, magazines and books are available for all guests.
