Unguja Lodge is located on the southwest coast of Zanzibar island in Tanzania. This family-owned lodge is set on the rocks above a pleasant little beach, lush tropical gardens, and relaxing public areas sorrounging a lovely inviting pool. The eleven guest suites are very large two storey buildings, most overlooking the ocean, those in the second row are close to a plunge pool. Specialised Zanzibari craftsmen were used in the construction process. The result is a breathtaking multicultural decor; a reflection of Zanzibar whose culture grew out of a fusion of African, Arabic, European and Asian cultures.
There are 11 self contained cottages in total: 7 Sea View Villas, 3 Baobab Villas, and the Family House. The Sea View villas and the Family House have a direct sea view, and each has a private terrace overlooking the Menai Bay. The Baobab Villas are built a few meters further from the shore beneath towering baobab trees. They are located close to the garden, which is an excellent spot to feel the coastal breeze.
Every room includes a double bed, mosquito nets, ceiling fan, AC, and ensuite bathroom. The Sea View Villas have open plan sitting room (baraza style), plunge pool, and are surrounded by lush green gardens. The Baobab Villas include a plunge pool, a loft with an extra double villas, baraza-style sitting rom, and preferctly manicured green gardens. The Family House comes with 2 smaller bedrooms on the upper level that come with 2 single beds, ensuite bathroom, and a shared balcony. A romantinc and relaxing lodge, perfect spot to relax on the languid shores on Zanzibar, relax after a safari, or getaway for a holiday. Excellent service, and spacious private villas make this an ideal honeymoon hotspot.

Head chef Nyerere blends the ideas of international chefs in with those from his own culture, to create a unique fusion of tastes and styles. Often he will pop out of the kitchen to see how the guests are enjoying his creations.
Unguja Lodge is located a short boat ride away from unspoiled coral gardens and excellent diving sites. Internet service is available, spa on site, laundry service, library, bar, and swimming pool.
