"Travelling with friends, instead of strangers jammed in bus, was absolutely the best of the best!” Carole Morse

Morocco tours offer some of the most unique experiences in Africa. From the snow-capped Atlas Mountains to the arid desert to the bustling city of Fes, there is a stunning amount of variety in this relatively small country. While there are many decisions to be made about what to add to your itinerary, it's important to make sure you include Essaouria. This beautiful coastal city has been a hub of activity for centuries and has plenty to offer during your tour of Morocco.
The neighborhood of Skala de la Ville is undoubtedly one of the highlights of Essaouria. You may recognize the area's ramparts from Orson Welles' adaptation of Othello, but it has much more to offer than a picturesque backdrop to the movies. The small section of the city also offers some of the best coastal views you'll find anywhere in the country, and the fact that the streets are lined with 18th and 19th century European cannons lends a historical element to this must-see spot.
There's more to Essaouria than its views, however. It is also a great place to visit if you're looking for active pursuits. There are numerous opportunities for guide-led camel rides along the beach and into the desert, and boat rides can take you out on the water to the islands located just off shore. But if you really want to get your adrenaline pumping, you can try your hand at kitesurfing or windsurfing. The two activities are extremely popular, and thanks to the city's location on the coast and fairly consistent winds, the conditions there are nearly perfect.
Explore the cities of Ouidah, Ganvie and Cotonou on this value tour, with your private vehicle, driver and guide.
