Upon arrival you will receive all of your necessary documents for your trip which contains a detailed personalized itinerary, maps, restaurant suggestions, Top Tips for exploring each city or region and a 24 hour concierge service (for restaurant reservations, spa treatments, child minders, day tours etc).
Upon arrival into Lusaka, you will be met on arrival after customs by our representative that will help you transfer to your next destination and welcome you to Zambia.

After lunch, head out on an afternoon game drive that continues into the early night giving you the chance to see the nocturnal world within the park.

Walking is the best way to see the bush. Your experienced guides love showing you the indicators of the wild, ‘rewinding’ the action of the last few hours from just a few small give away signs. See where an elephant stopped to browse, where a leopard scratched a tree or a pangolin rolled into a ball. Accompanied by an armed game scout and taking careful note of the wind to mask any scent. There’s nothing like seeing lion tracks or the giant footprint of an elephant to make guests relish the comforts of camp. The area is home to 60 mammals and over 400 bird species, making it one of the top birding destinations in the world.
After lunch, head out on an afternoon game drive that continues into the early night giving you the chance to see the nocturnal world within the park.

Day 4: South Luangwa National Park - South Luangwa National Park - Northern
The South Luangwa National Park is known as the home of the walking safari and all camps offer walks. Walking through big game country is a truly exciting experience and as South Luangwa led the way for guide training and licensing in Zambia the standard of guiding here is superb. Taking a scout with you, you will be able to enjoy a walk or explore further afield in the park. Enjoy a box lunch under a tree or next to a lagoon, take a siesta, or simply spend a lazy couple of hours reading a book with the fascinating animals and landscape all around you.
Spend the day exploring South Luangwa National Park with your guide. South Luangwa is Zambia's premier park. Many places are claimed to be "one of the remaining wilderness areas" or "one of the last wildlife sanctuaries" but the South Luangwa National Park can live up to all these names and more. The Luangwa Valley is vast, remote, home to both people and a truly impressive number of animals. The South Luangwa park is 9050 sq. km with the river, its tributaries and the riverine strips being the focus of the wildlife viewing. There are the diverse habitats, from huge ox bow lagoons of varying stages of maturity, woodlands, ebony groves, grassland and thickets, that host truly impressive numbers of wildlife. The birdlife is also excellent with around 450 species to be seen.
Accommodation: Nsefu Camp On the banks of the Luangwa River, Nsefu marks the spot where tourism first arrived in Zambia. The camp originally opened in 1951 and, although carefully renovated in the late 1990s, it retains an air of the early pioneers.

Day 5: South Luangwa National Park - Central - South Luangwa National Park - South Luangwa National Park - Northern
Enjoy this transfer from your South Luangwa National Park lodge in the Centralized area of the park to your lodge in the Northern area of this dynamic National Park grounds. Keep your keen-eye focused, as you'll have an opportunity to take part in some game viewing during this transfer. These ground based transfer vary in travel time from approximately 45 minute to 3 hours.
You will join others from the lodge and choose two activities per day. There is a full range of game drives and night drives in the South Luangwa National Park using open 4X4 vehicles accompanied by a knowledgeable guide. The emphasis in this area is the wonderful opportunities for Walking Safaris. On your walks you will be escorted by a professional guide and an armed national parks scout.

Day 6: South Luangwa National Park - South Luangwa National Park - Northern
Lions and leopards are often seen in the area around the camp, as are buffalo and elephant. For big game like this, you'll really need a vehicle to get up close and here in the South Luangwa, you'll have the privilege of going on game drives at night. You'll be amazed how much can be seen when you go down to the river for sundowner cocktails before leisurely driving back to camp. Bush babies in the trees stand out with their enormous eyes, puku and impala scarcely notice as vehicles pass by. Guests often see hyena and leopard in the early evenings and are able to get very close in the lodges specially designed 4 x 4 vehicles. On the open plains below the camp there are always grazing herds of antelope and of course they attract the predators that everybody wants to see.

Travel tips of Zambia
VISA/PASSPORT
A passport and visa are required for both US and Canadian citizens. A visa may be obtained in advance at a Zambian Embassy or Consulate or at the port of entry. Processing generally takes 5-7 working days. The fee is approximately $50 for a single-entry visa, $80 for a three-year, multiple-entry visa, or $20 for a day-trip visa (typically issued to tourists visiting Victoria Falls from a neighboring country). Please try to bring exact change whenever practical. At the time of entry, the immigration officer will stamp your passport with the permitted length of stay. Typically, an immigration officer will admit an American or Canadian citizen for the exact number of days they request, up to a maximum of thirty days. Visitors with indefinite departure plans may want to request admission for thirty days on arrival in the country.
Please note obtaining a visa is your responsibility. These requirements change often and therefore it is best that you check with the embassy of Zambia for the most up to date visa information.
HEALTH
Health insurance is essential. Medical facilities are poor quality. We recommend that you see a health-care provider who specializes in Travel Medicine. The doctor or health-care provider will determine what vaccinations and medication you will need, depending on factors such as your health and immunization history, areas of the country you will be visiting, and planned activities. - Cancellations of confirmed bookings 90 days or more prior to departure will receive full refund minus a $350 (per person) administrative fee and any non-refundable paid fees (e.g. non-refundable airfare, cruise or hotel deposits). 60-89 days will be subject to loss of 30% of program price. 30-59 days will be subject to loss of 50% of program price. 29 days or less will be subject to loss of 100% of program price.
