Kakuli Bush Camp

Kakuli is a seasonal bush camp located between the Luwi and Luangwa rivers.  Whether Kakuli is used as a stopover in the middle of a walking trail or as a base for a more static wildlife safari, the game viewing and night drive safaris in this area are some of the best in Zambia.  Kakuli boasts four spacious, traditional safari tents, with shady thatched roofs, and open-air bathroom. All of the tents overlook the river with stunning views up and down this hippo-packed stretch of the Luangwa.

    Tented Bedroom

    Each of the luxurious tented rooms are spacious, each containing two single or one king-sized bed. Additional beds for children can be added. Each room has a large wardrobe and shelving storage, and an indoor and/or outdoor comfortable seating area with table. Rooms in all camps have en-suite bathroom facilities, with plenty of hot water, towels and toiletries. In the evening hours, a staff member is always available to accompany guests to their room as desired, lighting the way and watching out for local wildlife.

        Enjoy a variety of cuisine types during a stay at Kakuli include some truly traditional option to the always popular westernized specials. When possible the highly trained culinary staff uses locally produced items to create authentic meals and help boast the local economy. Most meals are served in the buffet-style, with dinner consisting of a three-course meal. All meals are freshly prepared at the camp and are served either in the main dining area or in the guest suites.

          Kakuli Bush Camp has lovely thatched chitenje which acts as the centre of camp. It has been built on a wooden deck overlooking the grazing lawn that leads down to the two rivers. It is a perfect spot in which to relax and watch the river and the wildlife meander by. The ideal location of the Kakuli Bush Camp in this area of the Park provides visitors with some of the best game viewing opportunities in all of Zambia. Safari activities from Kakuli will usually be a mixture of game drives and walking safaris. Guests are able to decide each day if they want to venture out on foot or with the vehicle.
