Nsolo Bush Camp is situated near the Luwi sand river, in the heart of Zambia's South Luangwa National Park. Nsolo luxury safari camp boasts four individually designed chalets, each set atop a raised wooden deck with high thatched roofing and private verandahs. The rooms are very spacious, and boast stylish furnishings that one would expect from one of Zambia's luxury walking safari camps. As with most bush camps the bathrooms have no roofs and are set under the shade of the trees above. The ideal location of the camp means wildlife frequents the area. A watering hole in the dry river-bed in front of the camp provides some most exciting game viewing from the comfort of the central chitenje that houses the bar and small camp library.
Nsolo is one of the more historic camps in Zambia. It was built by Norman Carr in 1987 and Shaddy, the Camp Manager and guide, who has been studying the wildlife and conducting walking safaris from this camp for over 10 years. This is one of the South Luangwa's more remote, luxury walking safari camps, with only a limited network of roads in this area. As a result most of the game viewing activities are centered on walking safaris although short night drives are usually offered as well. The Luwi river system is renowned for its lion population. Various pride territories overlap in this area and the cats use the dry river bed watering hole. There are few African experiences more exciting than heading out on a walking safari early in the morning, having heard lions calling through the night, finding fresh tracks and following them up. This is a true African safari experience. This is big game viewing on foot and at its best
Each of the rooms are spacious, and contain either two single or one king-sized bed. Additional beds for children can be added. Each room has a large wardrobe and shelving storage, and an indoor and/or outdoor comfortable seating area with table. Rooms in all camps have en-suite bathroom facilities, with plenty of hot water, towels and toiletries. In the evening hours, a staff member is always available to accompany guests to their room as desired, lighting the way and watching out for local wildlife.
Enjoy dining outside or inside, feasting on traditional dishes or the always popular western fares. The highly trained culinary team uses local products where possible to create authentic meals and create boosts to the local economy. Most meals are served in the buffet-style, with dinner consisting of a three-course meal. All meals are freshly prepared at the camp and are served either in the main dining area or in the guest suites.
