Tena Tena Bush Camp

The Tena Tena Bush Camp is stretched along the banks of the Luangwa River under a beautiful and thick mahogany grove.  Enjoy your view of the Luangwa River as the camp is located on the high banks of the river near the Buca Buca lagoon and in the Nsefu section of the National Park.  A large marquee hanging from the trees covers the camp’s main area.  The bar and dining room are situated under an old established Natal Mahogany Tree; overlook the Luangwa River while your meal is served.  Enjoy game-viewing, game walks, boating in Luangwa, cultural day at the Kawaza Village and several other activities.  Tena Tena Camp is located in a secluded location, is completely solar powered, has great style and was described in The Times, London as “altogether beyond superlatives and must be one of the best safari camps in the whole of Africa.” The world renowned Robin Pope Safaris camp has been redesigned and built allowing a maximum of 8 guests to attend the camp at a time, this allows for the guests to have a very personal and intimate experience, you cannot go wrong at the Tena Tena Camp.

    Tena Tena Tents

    The five tented bush camp remains true to its sense of being a “temporary home”, the rooms are spacious but cozy. The tents are on top of the two tiered river bank hidden under the lush canopy and are set between leadwood poles. Each tent is adapted to its specific location so as to maximize the privacy in the rooms with a gorgeous view across the river. The rooms consist of a private veranda, dressing room, a large open air bathroom and outdoor shower. Overall, Tena Tena has four twin sized rooms and one honeymoon room.

    The bar and dining room are situated under an old established Natal Mahogany tree; built entirely from local materials such as grass, bamboo and Mukwa (local hardwood). Meals are served in the dining room, overlooking the delightful Luangwa river view.
