Situated south west of Kariba town on the southern foreshore of the vast Lake Kariba, is Bumi Hills Safari Lodge. Known as “the lodge on top of the hill” Bumi Hills faces onto Lake Kariba and Starvation Island. The guest areas at the main lodge are centred round a magnificently set infinity pool. With a classic safari feel, oversized furnishings and dark wood, guest areas include a lounge and a separate television room, dining room (bush and terrace dining is available), bar and terrace. All the guest areas have awe-inspiring views over the lake and wildlife may be seen on the lake shore.
The luxuriously appointed Premium residences are set right on the edge of the ridge affording guests an awe-inspiring panoramic vista from their private balcony. Each air conditioned room is equipped with a minibar, hair dryer, tea station, electronic safe, wifi access and a solar heated walk-in shower and separate bath tub.
The executive chef produces a charming fusion of continental cuisine that has a distinctly African twist. Most meals are served in the al-fresco restaurant but for the more adventurous at heart staff can arrange a bush meal experience out on the estate, an event you are likely never to forget.
Activities available include game viewing by boat or open safari vehicles, sunset cruises, bird watching, cultural tours and fishing.
Choose from a wide variety of treatments using the finest range of natural Africology products, and as you are pampered, be inspired by the enchanting view over the massive lake and nearby islands.
The signature infinity pool takes center stage at the lodge, conveniently located near the terrace bar, alfresco restaurant, residents’ lounge, games room and Kukondwa Spa which all have awe-inspiring views over the game-rich shoreline below, and seemingly infinite lake beyond.
