Raffles Grand Hotel d'Angkor was first built in 1932 and provided accommodation for travellers for whom the Angkor Temples were a mandatory stopover. Reopened in 1997 after a complete renovation, it offers superior and award winning standards of accommodation, world-class services and facilities, and warm Cambodian hospitality in a relaxed atmosphere.
Located in the Main Building, the landmark rooms are furnished with a luxurious blend of Cambodian and Art Deco themes. Decorated with memorabilia and artefacts reminiscent of the Golden Age of Travel, the Angkorian ambience is completed with high ceilings, wooden floors, marble bathrooms and crafted four-poster beds. Rooms feature a balcony and look out onto the pool or the Royal Crusade for Independence Gardens - the hotel's 60,000 sqm of lush, landscaped French gardens.
Located in the extended wing, the State Rooms are a blend of colonial charm and modern comfort. With a choice of king or twin beds, all rooms are beautifully appointed with air-conditioning, overhead fans and windows that open to let in the air and the atmosphere. Some State Rooms have balconies overlooking our gardens or swimming pool, whilst others have a daybed for relaxation. All State Rooms feature a separate bathtub and shower.
Four specially created Personality Suites take their inspiration from people who have been closely associated with Angkor. Located in the centre of the main building, each is fitted with a claw–foot bathtub, and a relaxing day bed on the balcony which overlooks our magnificent pool, modelled after the Angkorian Royal bathing pond. The suites are named after-Henri Mouhot, the 19th Century French naturalist who revealed the existence of Angkor to the world. John Thomson, an admirer and collector of Khmer Art which now forms a collection at the Guimet Museum in Paris. Louis Delaporte, the 19th Century Scottish photographer of Angkor Wat. Lastly, Henri Marchal, the man responsible for the first successful reconstruction of Banteay Srei.An exclusive collection of original memorabilia distinguishes each of these luxurious suites, making each truly unique experience.
Cabana Suites are located on the ground floor of the extended wing. Each is carefully decorated in French-Indochina style, whilst retaining the hotel's original character and charm by using local accents, such as custom-made Cambodian linens, with silks and leather furnishings. Perfect for both business and pleasure, each Cabana Suite has twin bathrooms, a living area which can be separated by curtains and direct pool access. The private terraces have day beds and loungers for relaxation, and make an ideal spot for breakfast or a romantic dinner. Each suite features a 'his&hers' bathrooms, separate seating area with additional flat screen TV and Bose sound system, and a private terrace.
True to the hotel’s original character, the 48sqm Colonial Suites are decorated with wood panelling and custom-made Cambodian silks evoking timeless French Colonial and Khmer charm. Each features a walk in wardrobe, separate sitting area and vintage furnishing, with beautiful French doors leading to the spacious balcony with views of our herb & spice garden.
