Set amidst 50 sprawling acres, and surrounded by undulating, yellow mustard fields, the Laxmi Vilas Palace was built for Raja Ragunath Singh, the younger brother of the then Bharatpur ruler, Maharaja Ram Singh. An eclectic and lively fusion of Rajput and Mughal architecture, the palace was earlier called Raghunath Niwas though locals always preferred to call it Kakaji ki kothi. The Laxmi Vilas Palace offers well appointed rooms, period décor, antique furniture and the best of comforts and Rajasthani hospitality. Laxmi Vilas Palace was built in 1887 for Raja Raghunath Singh, the younger brother of the then ruler of Bharatpur, Maharaja Ram Singh. In 1994, this family home was converted into a heritage hotel. At Hotel Laxmi Vilas Palace guest may relive the history of Bharatpur and feel the warm hospitality.
