The Nora Beach Resort & Spa is new to Koh Samui. Nora may just be starting off, but friendly staff and its unique southern Thai atmosphere is backed by hundreds of years of Thai hospitality. The resort enjoys a spectacular hillside setting, overlooking a secluded bay just north of the world-famous Chaweng Beach. Although only a few minutes from the island’s boutique airport and a short drive from central Chaweng, Nora is a secluded private little village within lush gardens. The resorts magnificent lobby is open-sided and invites cool sea breezes, scented by the lively greens of the surrounding gardens. One of the most charming features of the resort is the terraced stream, which runs from a pool in the lobby and gently flows through the grounds before plunging into a waterfall and mixing with the waters of the Thai gulf. As this lovely stream runs past your villa, the soothing sound of running water will gently lull you to sleep.
The luxurious Superior Rooms are spacious and offer magnificent views. Traditional Thai silk and furnishings impart a Siamese flavor, while the modern fittings ensure that guests experience every possible comfort. These rooms combine old-world charm with 20th century comforts. Every room has its own flat-screen TV with satellite, IDD telephone, in-room safe, fully stocked mini bar, tea and coffee making facilities, hair dryer, and luxury bathrobes.
Thai food has transcended from street food to be hailed as one of the world’s culinary masterpieces – at Nora Beach Resort you’ll see why. As Nora’s main restaurant, the Prasuthon offers royal Thai dishes using ancient recipes that have been enjoyed by the upper crust of Thai society for generations. There is also a wide variety of western dishes and fusion food to choose from. Nora’s director of Food and Beverage, Khun Mattawan, has worked in five-star resorts around the region and prides himself on ingredients and many of the resort’s herbs and vegetables are grown in the lush surrounding gardens.
