Arkaba Station (4.5*) is a 60,000 acre sheep ‘station’ situated on the southern edge of Wilpena Pound and the Flinders Ranges National Park. The Flinders Ranges are one of Australia’s most ancient landscapes, molded by hundreds of millions of years of geological activity, and also home to some of the most spectacular outback scenery in the country.The Arkaba homestead is a classic Flinders building, with thick stone walls, deep shady verandahs and corrugated roofing all set against the backdrop of the rugged Elder Range.These five traditional style guestrooms, 1850’s homestead, offers a taste of classic Australian country hospitality while a few ‘Wild Bush Luxury’ touches ensure comfort, style and a truly memorable experience. The rooms have been designed with the homestead’s heritage in mind with no distraction of telephones, televisions, minibars or the typical features of a hotel room.
