Bay of Islands Lodge is an eco-friendly lodge that sits above one of the area's few remaining un-milled coastal rainforests. It is surrounded by a native bush reserve; every major room enjoys uninterrupted views across Veronica Channel to the Russell peninsula and as far as Black Rocks, Moturoa Island and beyond. The two-level cedar clad lodge was built in 2004. The contemporary design is enriched by the extensive use of native timbers and a soft natural earthy colour scheme throughout which blends harmoniously with its surrounding environment. The Bay of Islands Lodge has a luxurious and relaxing environment from which to enjoy those therapeutic tranquil views, the lodge also features two central wood-burning fireplaces, rich dark brown leather sofas, oriental rugs, traditional Maori weavings and artifacts. Four spacious guest bedrooms and an "infinity" plunge pool and surrounding deck are located on the lower floor.
The Sea/Bush View Suites are full of luxury featuring king size beds or twin beds, premium cotton linens, cotton and feather pillows, private balconies with extensive bush/sea views, ensuite bathrooms with under floor heating, pure natural New Zealand made toiletries, walk in wardrobes, desks and large balconies. The soft earthy toned colour scheme blends seamlessly with the spectacular natural setting.
