  • Mercure Dunedin Leisure Lodge
Dunedin Leisure Lodge offers accommodation in Dunedin, at the site that was formally the McGavin Brewery. Back in 1882, it was arguably the largest brewery in New Zealand, with brewing or bottling operations continuing on the site until 1976, when the majority of the buildings were demolished. It wasn’t until August 1978 that, what was then known as the Leisure Lodge ...Motor Inn, was opened for business. Designed by Warren & Mahoney of Christchurch, some of the stonework from the original brewery buildings was used in the Foyer and the aptly named McGavin Room. Whilst the rooms and parts of the building have changed over the years, offering all the modern comforts you would expect, you can still explore the grounds and visit the Oast House, which survives from the brewery days (it was used as a malting kiln) and now serves as a function room. Afterwards, you can raise your glass in the McGavin’s Bar & Restaurant as you settle in for the night at your place in Dunedin..Show More
