Dunedin Leisure Lodge offers accommodation in Dunedin, at the site that was formally the McGavin Brewery. Back in 1882, it was arguably the largest brewery in New Zealand, with brewing or bottling operations continuing on the site until 1976, when the majority of the buildings were demolished. It wasn’t until August 1978 that, what was then known as the Leisure Lodge Motor Inn, was opened for business. Designed by Warren & Mahoney of Christchurch, some of the stonework from the original brewery buildings was used in the Foyer and the aptly named McGavin Room. Whilst the rooms and parts of the building have changed over the years, offering all the modern comforts you would expect, you can still explore the grounds and visit the Oast House, which survives from the brewery days (it was used as a malting kiln) and now serves as a function room. Afterwards, you can raise your glass in the McGavin’s Bar & Restaurant as you settle in for the night at your place in Dunedin..
Designed for comfort and space, this is your place to relax and unwind. Full of all the modern conveniences you would expect, Sky television, mini-bar, iron and ironing board – it’s perfect for either the leisure or business traveler. Enjoy a good night’s sleep, then wake up and make yourself a reinvigorating cup of tea or coffee to enjoy on either the patio or balcony.
Visit McGavins Dunedin Restaurant & Bar, where you will find fresh, locally sourced produce used to produce a contemporary menu. Classic dishes and local Dunedin dining favourites are on offer, providing a comprehensive selection from which every guest should be able to find something to their taste. The setting is relaxed and there is a fine selection of spirits and New Zealand wine to accompany the meal or for post-meal enjoyment. Breakfast and dinner is served daily. 24 hour room service is available 7 days a week.
