6:00 -7:00 am: Early morning pick-up in your hotel lobby. Shared transportation service (approximately 2½ hours) to Pacuare River put-in. Then, it's an exciting 1-1½ hour river rafting tour to the Pacuare Lodge (class II-III rapids) where you will enjoy a two night stay at Costa Rica’s premier eco-lodge.

Arrival at the Pacuare Lodge 12:00 – 1:00 pm.

After lunch participate in an optional canopy tour (not included) or waterfall hike, or simply relax in your private bungalow or suite. Dine on gourmet delicacies by candlelight and then visit our upstairs lounge for a cocktail or refreshment before retiring to a restful night’s sleep.

You’ll wake up to bird chirping and the soothing sound of the river nearby. Make your way over to the main lodge for a delicious breakfast of home-made breads, tropical fruits, yogurt, eggs, pancakes, cereal and juice and coffee.

The lodge employs a resident naturalist guide who will provide you with unique insights into the plant and animal world. Choose from exciting optional tours that include guided hikes through an emerald rainforest, the Cabecar Indian tour - where visitors may participate in a cultural exchange with a shaman and our Adventure Canopy Tour – where visitors glide amid a tropical rainforest canopy.

Departure between 9:00-10:00 am.Depart by raft for an even more fun-filled day of white water rating excitement (approximately 3½ hours over class III-IV rapids), including a delicious picnic lunch along the river. At our river take-out you will have a chance to change at our private facilities before being transferred back to your hotel.

Meet your driver for a private transfer to Arenal.

You will be picked up at your hotel and driven to the Hanging Bridges in Arenal for your private guided tour. You will have plenty of contact with nature during this tour (exotic birds, plants, howler monkeys). The trails have been designed for the transit of all types of people and covers 3100 meters of length located inside the mountainous zone. The trails are constructed with concrete bricks which offer tourists a safe passage. As a plus the security railings are always present on the passages where the floor presents irregularity. You will be picked up from your hotel and transferred to the rainforest close to the Arenal Volcano. Enjoy a leisurely hike for 1.5 hours through the rainforest while your private guide offers the history of the Arenal Volcano. This park is located at the base of the Arenal Volcano and is filled with wildlife including monkeys, toucans, coati and a large variety of bird species. Conclude the tour at the Springs Resort - soak in the hot mineral baths and enjoy! After a soothing soak in the hot springs, enjoy a lovely dinner at The Springs Resort, prepared in a colonial style rustic kitchen. Enjoy the local cuisine - a true authentic experience. Return to your hotel in the evening after a delicious dinner (included in the tour cost).

You will be picked up at your hotel and transferred to the tour start point. This journey through the top of the rainforest will have you "fly" from one platform to another by zipping on steel cables, while enjoying the beautiful landscapes of this primary forest from a different angle. Move through the rain forest, above the Arenal River Canyon. This tour offers an unforgettable encounter with nature. At the end of the tour you can chose to do a horseback ride and rappel. (147 ft. high) Recommended: Closed shoes, light and comfortable clothes, and in case you decide to ride a horse, wear long pants. Return to your hotel in the afternoon. Meet your driver-guide for a private vehicle transfer from Arenal/La Fortuna to Rio Celeste. 

A legend tells that after God was done painting the sky, he washed his brushes in the river that now bears the name of Rio Celeste (Light Blue River). You will start the walk at the Lodge at 08:00 am, until get to the park. After paying the park entry’s fee, we start the hike through this Humid Forest ecosystem, with the chance to observe various animal species and exuberant flora surrounding us. Along the walk we will discover the magnificent Rio Celeste waterfall, and also the place where the river dyes itself into that amazing light blue coloration and finally the natural hot springs (bathing allowed only at the springs) Walk: 4 to 5 hours, total 7 kms.

What to bring: Swimming suit, hiking shoes, sandals, change of clothing, binoculars, camera, sun block, money and hat.

We include: Water bottle, fruit, guide, and admission fee to the park.

Note on the Rio Celeste: It is possible that during extreme weather conditions of constant, long-lasting, heavy rains, the river may lose its coloration due to mud carried in the water. However, a few hours (5 or 6) of calm weather can restore the expected coloration. With this eventual exception mentioned above, The Rio Celeste can be visited any time of the year.
