Welcome to the Peace lodge, the ultimate awakening of your senses. Here every magical sight, wondrous smell and sensual touch create irreplaceable memories of a journey you wish to take again and again. Located less than one hour from the San José (Juan Santamaria) Airport, the Peace Lodge is the perfect place to begin or end your vacation. The hotel is also only 20 minutes from the Poás Volcano, another “must see” attraction in Costa Rica. All guests are welcome to enjoy the park before it opens and after it closes, the optimal bird and wildlife viewing times.
This 650 square foot room has a king size canopy bed viewing a grand gas fireplace. The interior design of the room is only surpassed by the view from the balcony of the La Paz River Valley and the Poás Volcano. The best way to enjoy the view is from the Jacuzzi tub or swaying in the hammock on the balcony. The bathroom has an oversized mosaic tiled tub and elaborate waterfall shower. There is also satellite TV, stereo system, refrigerator, coffee maker and room safe.
This 1,200 square foot villa leaves nothing to be desired. First there are not one, not two, but three fireplaces to set the mood for this wonderland in the Cloud Forest. The master bedroom alone invokes thoughts of romance with its king size canopy bed set before a gas fireplace. The oversized master bathroom, complete with full Jacuzzi tub, fireplace (yes, fireplace) and waterfall shower will make you wonder why you aren't staying longer. The villa is complete with a luxurious living room with a two-story fireplace and a second floor loft with a queen size bed, a single bed and full bathroom. If that isn't enough there is a kitchenette and dining area with refrigerator, coffee maker, microwave and room safe.
For those who desire the feel of the Rain Forest even when they are inside, this is the room for you. This 800 square foot room has an unbelievable garden bathroom designed for the true nature lover. A seven-foot waterfall comes to life as you soak in the Jacuzzi tub in the garden. There is also a garden shower and enclosed shower. All of this is surrounded by beautiful indoor landscaping and illuminated by a skylight. The room also has a Jacuzzi tub and hammock on the balcony for those picture perfect star gazing nights. A grand gas fireplace to view from the king size canopy bed makes the room complete. There is also satellite TV, stereo system, refrigerator, coffee maker and room safe.
Guests can either dine on the patio viewing the Poás Volcano or have breakfast served in their room. For lunch guests can choose from the delicious buffet including rotisserie chicken, hot dogs, pizza and typical Costa Rican fare in the Colibries Restaurant, rated Four Forks by the ICT or enjoy a la carte waitress service in the Big Trout Bar. Each afternoon, guests are invited to the Big Trout Bar to watch the sunset and enjoy a la carte tapas and freshly made fruit drinks lakeside.
Dinner becomes an event in the intimate dining room and bar in the Vista Poás Restaurant. Guests can arrive early for a pre-dinner drink, a game of backgammon or read from the lending library.
La Paz Waterfall Gardens Nature Park was the only privately owned park to be nominated by the readers of La Nacion Newspaper (the largest newspaper in Costa Rica) to be one of the “Seven Natural Wonders of Costa Rica”.
All guests are welcome to enjoy the park before it opens and after it closes, the optimal bird watching and wildlife viewing times. The Lodge is a great option as a bird watching hotel in the greater San José area because the rain forest literally surrounds the hotel and we have many “hard to see” species visit the feeders.
