The Mayan Inn, a charming surprise in a magical land, welcomes you into the old world of Spanish Colonial Times with a modern inn. Located in the village of Chichicastenango (Chichi), famous for its shopping at the market on Thursday and Sunday, the Mayan Inn features one of a kind accommodations, fine dinning, intimate lounge, lush patios, gardens and a local staff, that is prepared to make your stay a unique experience.
The Mayan Inn is perfect for a short stay, honeymoon or peaceful vacation. When you arrive you will be greated by one of our many local Quiche Maya attendants, who will lead you to your room.There are 30 different rooms. Enter through a covered spanish doorway where a warm fire greats you, along with many pieces of Spanish colonial art.
Step outside and you'll hear music unusual, intriguing, it's Marimba being played in the patio. You'll enjoy a walk through our many small patios with flowers, shrubs, sculpters from ancient Maya, exotic birds and other treasures. Hotel Mayan Inn in the center of Chichi offers single and double rooms, which are comfortably furnished and nicely decorated. Rooms have private bathroom with hot water and some rooms have a fireplace. A great ambiance and an ample, well-kept garden full of greenery and blooming flowers make you feel right at home.
You can choose either a Continental or American style Breakfast, as well as enjoy lunch and dinner in the lovely on site dining room. Try a traditional Chichicastenango meal. Our staff is pleased to offer you a great selection from their menu. The dining room is notably well appointed with lots of wall hangings and paintings.
Close to the hotel, you can find the outdoor market, where you'll find pottery, colorful textiles, carved wooden masks, flowers, incense and other Mayan goods for sale. Open Thursdays and Sundays only. The hotel is also near the church steps where flower venders set up shop. Also near food venders where chicken and rice and tortillas make a great lunch!
