The Egyptian Radamis I cruise, big brother to the Radamis II cruise, is part of the same family of well-known Movenpick hotels. Both travel the Nile but in different directions so as to offer the same impeccable services across the Nile. The 75 comfortable and well-appointed cabins, each exceptionally well-maintained and spacious, provide a panoramic view of the Nile water-scape as the ship glides towards each tour stopping point. Dining at the restaurants and lounges guarantees exciting fusions of culturally diverse dishes and ambient settings. The Radamis I carries the legacy of Movenpick decadence aboard with its chefs. Later, spend time in the swimming pool under the golden Egyptian sun, or simply gather the other cruisers and play a game of backgammon in the lounge!
The Mövenpick MS Radamis I offers a great chance to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the banks of the Nile and see the magnificent temples and tombs of the ancient world. This boat has been totally renovated in late 2008/early 2009. Our first hotel ship was begun in 1990 and completed by 1991. Weighing 600 tons, the cruise is approximately 72 m long by 13.5 meters wide and 11.4 meters (4 decks) high, the draught (depth under the waterline) of only 1.38 meters. It includes 75 deluxe cabins including 4 suites (on the top two decks) and a number of triple cabins (please click here to see a map of the cruise). Our cruises are also famous for our water system. Unlike other cruises, our boilers and water tanks are designed to make sure that our clients will always have hot and cold water regardless of how many people are on board.
There are 72 individually air-conditioned Deluxe cabins (20 square metres each). All have bath, in-house music and video channels, minibar, hairdryer and shaving sockets. Power supply is 220V. The panoramic wall-to-wall window allows you to contemplate the view from your cabin’s seating corner as you glide down the river. Our basic rooms are famous on the Nile for being the most spacious, approximately 20 meters square, and for the our fully fitted bathrooms which includes a bathtub, a hairdryer, and a shaving socket (110/220 volts). A large, specially designed, panoramic window allows our guests to view the Nile while lying on their beds. All our rooms are fitted with 20-inch televisions, mini-bars, climate-control and telephones that allow you to phone or fax anywhere around the world via our two dedicated GSM lines.
The ship has four main decks and a 900 meters square sundeck, as seen on the map. The spacious main restaurant is located on deck C and provides our guests with three gourmets Movenpick meals a day. Snacks and drinks are available around the pool and the bar on the Sundeck (not shown in map) and barbecues are sometimes held, weather permitting. The Mövenpick Restaurant offers classic Swiss and international cuisine, whilst all kinds of crazy spaghetti creations are available in the Restaurant Ciao, which has a special ambiance in summer with its Mediterranean garden. Fine dining in Mövenpick style. International and local delights are prepared by our chefs using the freshest ingredients. The lounge, with its warm colours and the flair of the big ocean cruisers, is the ideal location for a small gathering, some quiet reading or a game of backgammon.
Music and events are held in the lounge/disco, located on deck D, and it offers our guests an alternative place to relax and have a cool drink.
