Welcome to Heritage and History. Next to the Golf Club and across from the Turf Club track stands the Taj West End, a lush, 20-acre garden in the middle of Bangalore, a bustling city. Noted as a leading hotel of the World, the Taj West End is a sanctuary for today's discerning business traveler and offers an array of cutting edge business technology, and a 24-hour Business Centre. For the leisure seeker, there is plenty to do. Sip drinks under a 125-years old Banyan tree. Laze in the sun. Linger over high tea and let us demonstrate that even though the old days certainly had plenty going for them, the present is even better.
Housed in Zinnia block & Reginae Block, the luxury rooms are approximately 450 square feet. Most of these spacious rooms offer private verandahs with stunning views of the gardens. Non-smoking rooms are available on request. Features include a Queen sized bed, a television with satellite programs, a two-line speaker phone with international direct dial facility and voicemail, wireless internet access, an in-room safe, a mini bar and tea/coffee making facilities.
The Taj West End presents Masala Klub, an extension of the "Masala" brand restaurants. Masala Klub serves stylishly crafted Indian fare with a refreshingly light twist on traditional recipes from North and South India. Signature dishes include Murg khatta pyaaaz which is a combination of chicken with pickled onions, brought to a pleasing pungency with burnt garlic and tamarind chutney sorbet, which consists of dates, fruit and tamarind. Trolleys carry home-style phulkas (oil-free puffed breads) made of freshly ground atta (whole wheat flour made from hard wheat). The restaurant's open wine cellar offers a collection of 225 new world and traditional wines.
Under a romantic pavilion in the middle of Bangalore you can find some of the finest Vietnamese cuisine to be had anywhere. This is India's first Vietnamese restaurant and is a celebration of vibrant food, color and life. Every detail, from the cuisine to the service or décor is exquisite. Savor the delicate yet intense flavors from Vietnam next to a water hyacinth pool, cascading natural stone waterfall and Southeast Asian gardens landscaped by Michael White. Mood lighting by internationally renowned designer Tony Corbett ensures that the ambiance is perfect, as do specially designed fiber chairs, leather ottomans, dark silk textile and natural stone tables. Solid teak floors and Southeast Asian tiles complete the look.
In the middle of the relaxed country club atmosphere in Taj West End, there is one very high-energy anomaly - the Blue Bar. Quaff a Curry Leaf Martini next to the blue pulsating bar and see just how easy it is to get caught up in the mood. This stylish, open-air bar is surrounded by water and the music is a blend of Buddha Bar, Lounge, House and Retro. Relax at a table in the gardens or get closer to the action. Either way the Blue Bar will work its irresistible magic.
For upbeat atmosphere around the clock, there is no more distinctive choice than Mynt. Authentic Indian, Italian, Lebanese and Mediterranean cuisine is served from large interactive counters and kitchens for an open, engaging experience. Natural sunlight from skylights and tall bay windows created a lovely ambience inside and guests can also head to the garden for an alfresco dining experience.
Being away from home need not mean being away from your health and fitness routine. The Taj West End offers state-of-the-art facilities so that guests may stay invigorated and refreshed whenever their schedules permit. The Taj West End offers an outdoor swimming pool, massage services and a tennis court.
The hotel made its beginnings from the Tulip block way back in 1887 when Mr. & Mrs. Bronson ran it as a humble ten room inn to cater to British army officers. This block is now called the Tulip block and today houses the hotel spa. The off- white and maroon tiles at the Spa draw your attention and take you back to another era.
