The Serai has twenty-one luxurious canvas tents, divided into three categories. There are fourteen ‘Tented Suites’, each with their own verandah, drawing room, spacious air-conditioned bedroom and, of course, en-suite bathroom, covering an area of about 1100 sq.ft. The six ‘Luxury Tented Suites’ have in addition, a private walled-in garden with a plunge pool. And, the ‘Royal Suite’ which boasts its own private spa, pool, and lounge tents is the ultimate in luxury living in the desert!

The Royal Suite boasts its own private spa, outdoor pool and dining and lounge tents.
The Dining Tent serves delicious western repasts as well as sumptuous local delicacies, using much home-grown organic produce from the camp’s organic vegetable and herb garden. Guests can choose something from our wide range of wine and spirits, while slipping into one of the comfortable leather club-chairs in the Library Bar, with a book and a Cuban cigar. Alternatively, guests may drink or dine al-fresco anywhere on the estate.

The boutique at The Serai was conceived with care and intention to represent a selection of only the finest, most elaborate skills and styles of India passed down through the generations. Textiles have been described as the warp and the weft of India. The delicate embroidery and overlay of sparkling sequins and cotton chiffon kaftans is an art that comes to us from the days of the Grand Mughals. Worn by kings and queens, princes and princesses, from the splendid cities of Delhi, Lahore, Lucknow, Hyderabad, and more. These artisans even today embellish and style extraordinary fabrics in a manner few could match. We have them designed exclusively for The Serai. The paintings from Madhubani in Bihar, once the greatest cultural seat of India, Pataliputra, are famous across the world. We have a superb collection here. These are works of timeless art, the finest examples of the deft and experienced hands of master painters in rural India. The best of design and craft from Jaisalmer and The Thar Desert consisting of fine workmanship in stone, cloth, leather and bead work are made available here. The furniture at The Serai is crafted based on British designs of 'Campaign Furniture'. You can place orders for these.
