Built in the 18th century AD, Devigarh Fort Palace lies in the Aravalli hills of Rajasthan in the village of Delwara. It was an award for Sajja Singh of Gujarat, in recognition of his bravery and loyalty to Maharana Pratap against the Mughal emperor Akbar at the Battle of Haldighati in 1576AD. The construction of the fort palace started only in the 1760s by Raghudev Singh II, with subsequent additions being made by the successive rulers. Devigarh Palace was later opened as heritage hotel after years of restoration and rebuilding.
