Hatton is a town in the Nuwara Eliya District of Central Province, Sri Lanka governed by an Urban Council. Situated at an elevation of 1271 m (4168 ft), it is known for its Ceylon tea plantations and industry.
Located on the Colombo-Badulla railway line, and Colombo - Nuware Eliya main road, the town serves as a gateway to Adam's Peak pilgrims, Nuwara Eliya and tourists. In 2008 part of the Hatton town, including religious places, was gazetted as a Religious Zone by the Government of Sri Lanka.
