And when you experience the bucolic splendor, fantastic museums, incredible food and medieval abbeys where the monks still run their own breweries, you’ll realize Belgium isn’t too shabby either. Stroll through cityscapes and country roads that offer artistic wealth, innumerable monuments, historical buildings and quaint, old churches. In the evenings, relax in exclusive accommodations hand-selected for their sophisticated and luxurious ambiance.

Explore the old and new parts of beautiful Amsterdam and visit the Royal Palace, the National Monument, the Skinny Bridge, and the beautiful houses along the canals. If you feel a sudden urge to be skilled in the art of flirtation, head to the famous Red Light District where the working girls strike come-hither poses in windows and beckon to passers-by. A short train ride through picturesque landscapes and you arrive in lovely Brussels where you’ll enjoy a private guided tour of monumental square, Grand Place and the city center. In Antwerp, take a tour of some of the oldest breweries and sample wheat beers, pale lagers and golden ales. In Bruges, visit a chocolate factory and experience what Heaven must be like when you sample the mind-blowing confections on display. This trip promises moments of the most delicious kind. ... Day 1: Amsterdam

A transfer from the airport to your hotel with a private vehicle and driver is provided.

A welcome package with  a city map, train tickets (if relevant), and any other touristic information that we deem you may find useful will be given to you by your driver upon arrival. Alternative arrangements will be made if you do not have a private transfer at the start of your itinerary.

A great way to see the city and experience it in local fashion is to rent a bike. Amsterdam is one of the most cycle-friendly cities in the world and bicycles have sometimes more space on the road than their fellow pavement users. Expect to pay EUR12 per day for a bike rental. From the picturesque Jordaan district where streets are named after flowers to the artistic Westerpark where open-air concerts, theatre and exhibitions take place, Amsterdam abounds with walking opportunities that combine well with cultural heritage. Amsterdam's infamous Red Light District is in the very centre of the city, concentrated on two canals, Oudezijds Voorburgwal and Oudezijds Achterburgwal, and the interconnecting streets.

Accommodation: Estherea (4*)

The boutique Hotel Estheréa is housed in a row of 17th century buildings on the Singel, Amsterdam's oldest major canal and part of the ring of canals added to the official UNESCO World Heritage list in 2010. Dam Square, the central railway station, the main shopping area, museums, theatres, and night life are all within walking distance. The rich, colorful interior includes woolen carpets, crystal chandeliers, mahogany paneling, luxurious fabrics, extravagant wallpapers, flowers, plants, and fish. Guests can relax with a cocktail and light snack at Maria's bar or get a workout in at the fully equipped gym.

Day 2: Amsterdam

Your English speaking guide will meet you at your hotel and take you on a tour of wonderful Amsterdam. Your guide will take you through the most picturesque neighborhood of Amsterdam on foot, the canals, the bridges, and to the beautiful 17th and 18th century mansions along the canals. You will also see the Royal Palace on Dam square, the historic buildings along the Amstel River, the colorful flower market and more. Cruise the canals by boat, the best way to see Amsterdam; Holland’s capital has 100 canals and 1000 bridges. While cruising through the old city you will see elegant merchant's mansions, carillon-topped churches and warehouses dating back to the 16th and 17th centuries.

Enjoy dinner at leisure. There are lots of good places to choose from. Here are some suggestions: De Kas, Kamerlingh Onneslaan 3, Tel: (0)20-462-4562. An old greenhouse converted into a beautiful dining room. You can be sat at the chef’s table, under the 8 metre high glass conservatory or if the weather permits on the patio. It is an absolute delight to experience some of the greatest cuisine in Amsterdam. The daily harvest defines the menu. 11 Oosterdokskade 3-5 Tel: (0)20-625-5999. Not to be missed, 11 mixes with perfection great quality food, brilliant atmosphere and a unique location. Although the entrance could put some people off, it is worth going to the 11th floor of the Post CS building and admire the view over the city. EUR29.50 for a 3-course dinner.

  • Vanessa Oquendo — April 21, 2014 — Europe

Melissa Field was extremely helpful! She was courteous, professional, knowledgeable, and friendly! She kept me updated on the status of everything and provided timely correspondence. She took ownership for any problems I had and remedied them. I had the most amazing time of my life in Iceland and Paris! I would not have experienced everything without the help of Kensington Tours.

  • Marilynn Weaver — April 21, 2014 — Europe

All of our guides were beyond fabulous! Our time in Dublin was much too short, would have loved to stay there at least one more full day. Would recommend extending this package to 15 days for any future visits. The train to Edinburgh was super! Beautiful scenery and great steak pies!

  • Ann Saxon — November 06, 2013 — Europe

Our trip was fantastic!!! I cannot say enough good things. Lianne worked with our exact dates and time frame beautifully. Our drivers were prompt and friendly. The private guides were so knowledgeable. We left with an appreciation of the history, the culture, and the beauty of Andulasia. We were very pleased and will certainly recommend your company to friends and family.

  • Coby Scherr — November 05, 2013 — Europe

Everyone involved in our Portugal trip made it terrific. Exactly as advertised. Every event on time and most pleasant. Guides were well-informed, courteous and friendly. Really made for a great journey every time. Each hotel was clean, upgraded and staffed with knowledgeable and friendly folks. Breakfasts were complete -- almost too much to eat. It will always be a wonderful memory thanks to Kensington Tours.

  • Couples Dellinger & Hubbell — November 06, 2013 — Europe

We've been raving to everyone about the food, the friendliness of the people and the amazing history and sites in Turkey. Yes, we want to go back.

  • John Edstrom — October 22, 2013 — Europe

Overall, our tour in Spain was very enjoyable, and well planned and executed. Our private tour of the Alhambra was excellent. Virginia, tour guide for royal palace ruins outside of Cordoba, was also excellent. In Seville, we went to the Flamenco Show/dinner, and the Flamenco was outstanding!

  • Kevin Wilshere — October 19, 2013 — Europe

Great trip to Spain! Thanks again for all your help, Lianne. The destinations, hotels, guides and everything were all top notch.

  • Chery Westlund — November 07, 2013 — Europe

My husband and I took a 3 week vacation to southern Europe and North Africa and had a great time. All the guides were very knowledgeable and bent over backwards to accommodate us. The arrangements made by Kensington went off without a hitch. This is our second trip with Kensington (we went to Peru in 2009) and we will certainly book with them again.

  • Randy Gramlich — October 07, 2013 — Europe

Thank you for your follow up, we both loved our time in Croatia. It’s really a beautiful place, especially the coast. Your choice of hotels was great. It was an incredible view from the Bellevue hotel in Dubrovnik and the Vestibule in Split was in the best possible location. We were able to relax in our room listening to the wonderful singers in the courtyard and its central location made it so easy to walk anywhere we wanted to see with ease.

  • Jay Steffan — September 24, 2013 — Europe

We just returned from a 10 day trip to Paris and Normandy. We spent three nights in Paris and then enjoyed a seven night cruise on the Seine to Normandy with AMA Waterways. The time in Paris was well spent and has piqued our interest to return for a more thorough visit. Guide Wafaa Lankey was superb in our visit to Versailles. The Seine cruise was relaxing and beautiful. So many wonderful little towns and we wished we had more time in each one to explore and enjoy.

We traveled to Croatia and Slovenia using Kensington earlier this year which was a fantastic trip.
