Your morning’s sightseeing tour reveals why Prague is considered one of Europe’s most attractive cities, with its historic city center recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will see Wenceslas Square and the Metronome overlooking the Vltava River before arriving at the 1,000-year-old Hradcany Castle for a visit. Afterwards, walk over Charles Bridge to the Old Market Square and see the Church of Tyn and the famous Astronomical Clock.

Depart from Prague after breakfast via motor coach and enjoy a stop in Karlovy Vary, better known by its German name, Carlsbad, famous for its Bohemian Spas. After lunch, drive through the pastoral (Bohemian) countryside to Nuremberg, the capital of Franconia.
Tonight, meet your fellow passengers at the Welcome Dinner. The ship will moor overnight in Nuremberg.

Enjoy a scenic morning cruise as the ship crosses the Continental Divide via the Main-Danube Canal and leisurely cruises through the beautiful Altmühl Valley. This afternoon, you have a choice of two tours in Nuremberg. “Medieval Nuremberg” will give you a fascinating overview of this former unofficial capital of the Holy Roman Empire, an ancient city historians consider the epicenter of the German Renaissance. You will see the 900-year-old ramparts, towers and city walls of the Imperial Castle that surround the historic city center, as well as the house where artist Albrecht Dürer once resided. Another sightseeing option is the “World War II” tour that focuses on Nuremberg during the time of the Third Reich. You will visit the Zeppelin Field where Hitler once held Nazi rallies and the Justice Palace courtroom where the War Crimes Tribunal sat in 1946 (when available). The ship cruises to Regensburg this evening.
This morning’s scenic cruising takes you through the final stretch of the Main-Danube Canal en route to Regensburg, one of Germany’s best preserved medieval cities and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will have a guided group walking tour of the city’s architectural highlights, including the Old Town Hall and the Porta Praetoria, gates to an ancient Roman fort built in 179 A.D.
After breakfast, arrive in picturesque Passau, a 2,000-year-old city noted for its Gothic and Baroque architecture, where the Inn and Ilz rivers join the Danube. You will have a group walking tour of Passau’s Old Town, past the old city fortifications and St. Stephan’s Cathedral, home to Europe’s largest pipe organ.
Optional:As an alternative, you may join an optional excursion to Salzburg excursion, you will have a walking tour of the historic center, famous as the setting for the “Sound of Music” and as the birthplace of Mozart. Enjoy free time on your own before returning to the ship, now docked in Linz. Early this morning, we cruise through the scenic and romantic Wachau Valley en route to Melk. Your guided tour takes you to Melk’s magnificent 900-year-old Benedictine Abbey, one of the world’s most famous monastic sites, located on a rocky outcropping overlooking the Danube. Return to the ship for lunch before cruising on through the Wachau region. Arrive in Vienna after dinner and explore the magnificent Austrian capital on your own, or enjoy an optional evening Mozart and Strauss concert (not included- speak with your travel consultant if this is of interest).
Savor Vienna’s Baroque elegance on a guided group city tour that includes the world famous Opera House, the Ringstrasse, St. Stephen’s Cathedral and more. The tour is followed by free time in the city center to shop for souvenirs or sample some of Vienna’s famous pastries.
Alternatively, join an optional (not included) excursion to the imperial Schönbrunn Palace, the former summer residence of the Habsburg emperors and a fine example of Baroque architecture. Tonight, the ship continues down the Danube en route to Hungary.
This morning, a group sightseeing tour takes you to historic Buda Castle, where you can enjoy a splendid view of the twin cities of Buda and Pest. Your tour also features the Fisherman’s Bastion, the Royal Palace, St. Stephen’s Basilica, Heroes’ Square and more. After dinner, the ship will sail a special “Illuminations Cruise” past the city’s glittering riverfront.
