Day 1: London

For your added comfort, a Meet & Greet assistant will welcome you upon your arrival. A representative will be waiting for you in the arrivals hall after you pass through customs. If a private airport transfer has been arranged, your representative will help to co-ordinate meeting up with your private chauffeur at the airport. You will then be escorted to the vehicle and transferred to the hotel. Your representative will assist you with checking in.

Meet your personal driver at Heathrow airport, and enjoy a private transfer to your hotel.

A welcome package with a city map, train tickets (if relevant), and any other touristic information that we deem you may find useful will be waiting for you upon your arrival at your first hotel on your trip.

The London Underground or ‘the tube’ as it is universally known to Londoners, is normally the quickest and easiest way of getting round London. Greater London is served by 12 tube lines, along with the independent (though linked) and privately owned DLR and an interconnected rail network. The first tube train operates at around 5:30am Monday to Saturday and around 7am Sunday; the last train leaves between 11:30pm and 12:30am depending on the day, the station and the line. Remember that any train heading from left to right on the map is designated as eastbound, and any train heading from top to bottom is southbound- no matter how many squiggles and turns it makes. If your two stations are not on the same line, you need to note the nearest station where the two lines intersect, and it is here that you must change trains. Step out into this fantastic city and explore with your travel card - the best way to see London!

Day 3: London

Today you will pay a visit to the magnificent medieval Warwick Castle, where most of its amazing towers and ramparts are still intact. Warwick Castle will take you back through its 1,000-year history as you enter over the footbridge to a bygone world of banquets, battles and ceremony. Visit the magnificent interiors of the Great Hall & State Rooms, climb the Towers and Ramparts for an archer’s view of the historic town of Warwick, and enter the multi-sensory Kingmaker attraction and journey back to 1471 as Richard Neville prepares his army for battle. Alternatively, you might like to stroll through some of the 60 acres of Warwick Castle's landscaped gardens.

You will then travel through the rolling Warwickshire hills to Stratford-upon-Avon, a market town at the edge of the Forest of Arden made famous for being the birthplace of the world-famous playwright William Shakespeare. You’ll visit the Tudor-style birthplace of William Shakespeare, gaining a fascinating insight into his childhood with its typical parlor, bedrooms, kitchen, buttery and of course the glove-maker’s workshop used by John, Shakespeare’s father.

The colleges in Oxford date back to the 13th century and among its famous students were Bill Clinton, C.S. Lewis, J.R.R. Tolkein and Lewis Carroll. You will be taken on a fascinating walking tour through the cobbled streets of Oxford to see the Bodleian Library and the picture-perfect college courtyards, for which Oxford is justifiably famous.

Steeped in history and heritage, the area of England known as The Cotswolds is a charming blend of cottages with honey-coloured walls and thatched roofs, market towns with crooked half-timbered houses lining the High Street, and ancient stone crosses, all set in the gently rolling hills ("wolds") that are so typically English in character.

Admission to Warwick Castle and Shakespeare's Birthplace is included in the tour price.

The Ivy is situated in the heart of London's West End, close to Leicester Square, Shaftesbury Avenue and the vibrant quarters of Covent Garden and Soho. Open late each night, the restaurant is also perfect for post theatre dinner. The Royal Opera House and Coliseum, Palace Theatre, Donmar Warehouse, Wyndham's and Noel Coward Theatres are close by. All restaurant food comes from sustainable sources.

Day 5: Edinburgh

Today, you will enjoy a scenic half-day walking tour of Edinburgh. You will be met at your hotel by a professional guide to commence your private tour. The buzz of Scotland's capital city sits in perfect contrast to the peaceful tranquility of the surrounding Lothians region. Edinburgh has one of the most beautiful cityscapes in the world, making it the ideal city break destination. From ceilidhs and science to ghost, film and food festivals there is always something going on in Edinburgh. Discover world-class museums and galleries, learn the history of the city or spend an afternoon pub crawling - whatever your fancy! Make sure to wear comfortable walking shoes and perhaps take an umbrella just in case!

Edinburgh Castle is Scotland's most famous tourist attraction and has dominated its surroundings with majesty for centuries. Historically, the castle has withstood numerous attacks from Oliver Cromwell's Roundheads in 1650, and William and Mary's army in 1689. The buildings within the fortress include a 12th-century chapel (Edinburgh's oldest building) and the Great Hall, completed in 1511. The castle is home to the National War Museum of Scotland, hosts the Edinburgh Military Tattoo every August and is still an active army base. Learn more about the history and stories that make this ancient place so amazing at your leisure.

Then, as you are travelling through Stirlingshire, your guide will bring to life the turbulent times of William Wallace - dramatised in the film Braveheart - and explain his link to the countryside you're passing through. You'll stop at the beautiful city of Stirling, site of the Wallace Monument. You'll have ample time to explore the stunning castle (optional) or stroll through the beautiful and ancient streets that surround it. Take in the view along the Duke's Pass. Day 7: Edinburgh

Enjoy a day spent in the Borderlands of Scotland and England. Your small group tour follows the ancient Roman Dere Street that connected Scottish Caledonia with Roman Britannia through the Scottish Borders. Stopping in the Borders town of Kelso, you can explore this handsome town with what is thought to be Scotland’s largest market square. You will also see the ruins of Kelso Abbey, one of the reminders of the many ancient conflicts between Scotland and England. Continuing South you will cross the border and travel to imposing Alnwick Castle, one of the great castles of Northumberland that has stood for nearly a millennium. Originally built to protect the north of England from Scottish border reivers and invaders, more recently Alnwick Castle and its perfectly manicured gardens have found fame as one of the settings for the fictional Hogwarts school in the Harry Potter movie series. After almost 3 hours to explore Alnwick Castle you travel north along the Northumberland Coast, one of the UK’s most outstanding area’s of natural beauty. Stopping along the way to admire some of the area’s best known beaches, castles and ancient Border towns. Private tours were the best. Enjoyed being able to stop and see sights big groups wouldn't be able to do.

  • Tilda B. — August 10, 2016 — Europe

Our agent Enrique was phenomenal. He booked every aspect of our trip, from transportation, tour and hotel. All we had to do was show up. Best vacation!!

  • Gary C. — August 10, 2016 — Europe

My excellent experience with Kensington Tours started with Michelle Callaghan, a consultant for Ireland and UK, followed by a very friendly and knowledgeable person in KT Air, ending with our guide Paul Wilson who my whole family loved. I am lucky enough to have traveled internationally for both business and pleasure for decades, therefore I have to compare. The entire experience with Kensington, from start to finish, was a 10.

I love being able to call Kensington and tell their agents where I want to go and what I'd like to see when at my destination. All I do is pack my suitcase and from the moment my plane lands, I am taken care of and looked after. It turns a "trip" into a "vacation" as well. It's hassle free, first rate.

We enjoyed the trip immensely! All our tour guides did a good job. I'd like to especially call out Alexandra from Lisbon and Javier from Toledo as outstanding. Our primary drivers Jose in Lisbon and Muhammad in Morocco were also outstanding! Special appreciation for our Riad accommodations in Marrakech which was magical!

Jaclyn was the best!!! I have already referred her to a friend! She was quick responding and really listened to what we like! Definitely will use her again!

Absolutely outstanding service. We loved it. Very professional staff and timely with schedules. It saved us a lot of time and we got to see a lot more than we would have done had we done this all by ourselves.

Great vacation. People in Iceland are wonderful, cordial, friendly.

Your tours are not inexpensive but worth every penny of the extra cost. You do your homework and the guides are superb. Your service during the trip is personal and responsive. I have seen this in three continents.
