Originally opening in 1490, called Thaltor-Herberge, it featured elegant bedrooms with Gothic paneled walls, comfortable poster beds and linen closets. In 1946, the owners had to focus on rebuilding this hotel as it was nearly destroyed during World War II. Despite the hard times, the rebuilding progressed quickly and reopened in 1952 with even more rooms to offer. Throughout the years, there have been elaborate renovations, adding a restaurant, state of the art security and communication technology. Celebrating over 100 years and four generations, Hotel Torbrau is not only a gorgeous hotel in a convenient location, but also a place filled with history.
Hotel Torbrau offers 90 quiet and tastefully appointed rooms and suites. With air-conditioning in every room, guests will feel comfortable with all the amenities needed to enjoy their stay. Features include a satellite television, bathtub or shower, and complimentary mineral water.
