Temple of Olympian Zeus
Day 2: Athens
This private tour gives you an opportunity to observe the striking contrasts that make Athens such a fascinating city. Your expert guide takes you to see the centre of the city, Constitution Square (Syntagma), the House of Parliament, the Memorial to the Unknown Soldier, and the National Library. Driving down Herod Atticus Street, you will see the Evzones in their picturesque uniform and the Presidential Palace. On your way to the Acropolis, you will see the Hadrian's Arch, visit the Temple of Olympian Zeus and you will make a short stop at the Panathenaic Stadium where the first Olympic Games of the modern era were held in 1896. On the Acropolis, visit the architectural masterpieces of the Golden Age of Athens: the Propylaea, the Temple of Athena Nike, the Erechtheion, and finally, the Parthenon. You will complete your visit with the Museum of Acropolis. Entrance fees to the New Acropolis Museum is included.

Day 4: Santorini
Your day begins with a taxi transfer from your hotel to the Athinios port, where you will embark on a private tour traditional boat trip. You will be accompanied on your tour by an English speaking guide and your first stop is the isle of Nea Kameni. Here you have the opportunity to climb up to the crater taking approximately 1 ½ hours. Next the boat stops at Palaia Kameni where you can enjoy a short swim to the Hot Springs, which are many believe to have healing powers. Afterwards you will head to Thirassia Island, where you have 2 hours free to explore the island, swim or have lunch (not included). Finally, the boat sails along the coast and ends up to the port of Athinios, where the taxi is waiting to drive you back to your hotel.

Meet your private driver and English-speaking guide out front of your hotel for a guided tour of Knossos Palace, recognized as the ceremonial and political centre of the Minoan civilization. The ruins of the capital of the Minoan Kingdom include the palace of Minos (including the throne of King Minos), the homes of the officials and priests who surrounded him, as well as the homes of common people and the cemetery. After the Palace tour, you will return to the Heraklion city centre for a guided tour of the Archaeological Museum of Heraklion, regarded as one of the most important museums in Europe. The Heraklion Archaeological Museum is the best in the world for Minoan art, as it contains the most notable and complete collection of artifacts of the Minoan civilization of Crete. Your museum tour will be followed by a walking tour of Herklion, as well as some free time for lunch (not included).

Day 8: Elounda
Today you will visit the amazing Chrissi Island that is located 8 miles off the South-east coast of Crete, in the Libyan Sea. You will have an hour cruise from Ierapetra to Chrissi Island that is in fact a huge sand hill one third of which is covered with a Juniperous forest with some law protected rare kinds of trees. In the Island you will find 2 beaches with unbelievably clear turquoise water. There you will have several hours for swimming, snorkeling and sunbathing and explore the island forest trails (swimming and snorkeling gear, money for food and drinks, camera, sun cream, hat and water you have to bring with you) . During lunch time you can go to the small tavern and enjoy local cuisine with glass of chilled wine or beer. In the evening you will return to your hotel full of lovely memories about this "Paradise on Earth".

Meet your guide and enjoy your tour today! The first stop will be Mandraki Harbor with the Italian buildings in the centre of Rhodes town. After passing the aquarium, you will be driven up Monte Smith, where you will see the ancient stadium of Diagoras – Acropolis of Rhodes. Take in the beautiful panoramic view of Rhodes here. The next stop will be Filerimos, a hilltop monastery, where you can visit the ruins and foundations of the Temple of Zeus Polieus of 4th century BC. You will also see the historical Doric fountain, and the "Way of Cross", with its many steps and striking scenes of passion. As you turn back to Rhodes, you will see the Amboise gate, an entrance to the medieval town of Rhodes. Here, you will walk down and visit the Grand Master Palace and the popular archaeological Museum.

VISA/PASSPORT
Greece is a party to the Schengen agreement. As such, U.S. and Canadian citizens may enter Greece for up to 90 days for tourist or business purposes without a visa. The passport should be valid for at least three months beyond the period of stay.
Citizens of other countries may require a visa. Please ask your Sales Advisor. These requirements change often and therefore it is best that you check with the Embassy of Greece for the most up to date visa information.
HEALTH
Health insurance is recommended. Medical facilities are good quality. We recommend that you see a health-care provider who specializes in Travel Medicine. - Your deposit is due immediately on booking (30% of program price, minimum $350). The balance is due 90 days prior to departure.
- Cancellations of confirmed bookings 90 days or more prior to departure will receive full refund minus a $350 (per person) administrative fee and any non-refundable paid fees (e.g. non-refundable airfare, cruise or hotel deposits). 60-89 days will be subject to loss of 30% of program price. 30-59 days will be subject to loss of 50% of program price. 29 days or less will be subject to loss of 100% of program price.
- Tour quotes do not include airfare to/from the trip start point unless noted on the itinerary
- Cost increases in currency exchange, government fees, taxes, surcharges or hotel/lodge tariff increases between quote date and start date are payable by the client.
- Availability cannot be guaranteed until booked. We will exercise best efforts to book hotels per the itinerary, however, in busy seasons and with client bookings made within 90 days of tour date we may be forced to offer substitutes.
