Naxos Beach ll (4*)
“A beachfront blockbuster with an exclusive edge, the Naxos Beach Resort comes with all the trimmings.” The scenery surrounding the Naxos Beach Resort (4*) is spectacular to put it mildly. After all, this complex is so close to Mount Etna you can actually see it smouldering away. Not only that, the hotel is set in large tropical gardens complete with manicured lawns and shady palms. Plus, there’s a beautiful private beach just a short stroll away. And if you can tear yourself away, Giardini and Taormina are within easy reach, while Mount Etna is only an hour’s drive away. The Naxos Beach Resort itself is a big contemporary affair. Accommodation-wise, there’s a mix of rooms, suites and cottages on offer. Rooms are well-dressed - think sand-coloured walls, lightwood furniture and terracotta-coloured bedspreads. In terms of extras, expect private balconies or terraces, along with air-conditioning, mini fridges and satellite TVs. Outside, everything centres around a show-stopping pool scene. This place offers up two outdoor pools, and one of them is Olympic-sized. Add that to a wide sun terrace dotted with loungers and parasols, a separate splash pool for the little ones and a bar, and you’ve got the perfect chill-out zone. If all that sounds a little too relaxed for your liking, you could always head for the state-of-the-art gym instead. As for dining, the hotel serves up five restaurants and four bar-come-cafés. From traditional Italian fare to just-landed seafood and authentic Sicilian favourites, it’s all on the menu and more. There’s even a separate restaurant for the children, so you can rest assured there’s plenty for the little ones to eat, too. Last but not least, the hotel offers up plenty in the way of entertainment such as children’s clubs, cabaret shows and comedy nights – and you can dip in and out as much or as little as you like.
