Day 1: Budapest

A transfer between the airport and the city or your hotel with a private vehicle and driver is provided.

Buda Castle Fashion Hotel is located in the heart of the castle district, one of Budapest's more elegant quarters on the Buda side of the city. The local area is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the historical streets, which were once the commercial and governmental centre of the city, provide a fascinating view of the city’s glorious past. The Holy Trinity Square, Mathias Church and the Fishermen’s Bastion are all just a few steps from the hotel. The 25 rooms of the Hotel Buda Castle are all generously sized and elegantly furnished in a modern style. Breakfast is served in the Orangerie lounge. There is also a café and snack bar that stays open daily until midnight.

Day 2: Budapest

Today you will visit Matthias Church and The Fishermen’s Bastion with your own private guide on a half day city tour. Located in the Buda’s Castle District, Matthias Church was originally built in 1015. Officially named ‘the Church of Our Lady’ the building is commonly known by the name 'Matthias Church', which refers to the Hungarian King Matthias Corvinus. The Fishermen’s Bastion was built between 1895 and 1902 and features impressive towers, colonnades and embrasures. Take the opportunity to admire and photograph the magnificent view from one of its towers overlooking the city and the Danube. Entrance fees to Matthias Church and the Fisherman's Bastion are included.

Visit the former summer-residence of Queen Elisabeth (Sissi) and Francis Joseph in Godollo, one of the largest baroque palaces in the world. You will have a glimpse of the times under the Austro-Hungarian Empire. Take a break to enjoy coffee and cake at the Palace Cafe.

Day 3: Budapest - Budapest, Hungary - Danube Cruise

Meet your private vehicle and driver for a port transfer.

Tonight you will meet your fellow travelers on board for a welcome dinner, as your vessel departs en route to Bratislava.

Port charges are included in your itinerary pricing.

Day 4: Bratislava, Slovakia - Danube Cruise

This afternoon, arrive in Bratislava, capital of Slovakia. Enjoy a group walking tour of the city’s major sites, including the Old Town Hall, Mirbach Palace and Gothic St. Martin’s Cathedral. Spend the evening in Bratislava before the ship cruises to magnificent Vienna later tonight.

Day 5: Vienna, Austria - Danube Cruise

This morning, enjoy a panoramic group tour of Vienna that will include the majestic Opera House, the Ringstrasse and St. Stephen’s Cathedral. The afternoon is free to stroll along the Kärtnerstrasse or sample some of Vienna’s famous pastries in the historic city center, a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Optional:
Should you decide to partake, you may join a tour to Schönbrunn Palace, a former imperial 1,400-room Rococo summer residence in Vienna. The Palace and Gardens have been designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and remains one of the primary tourist attractions in Vienna.

Optional:
If you are so inclined, you will have the opportunity to enjoy an optional Mozart and Strauss concert in the “Music Capital of the World.”

Day 6: Dürnstein, Austria - Melk, Austria - Danube Cruise

After reaching the Wachau Valley early this morning, you will have a group walking tour of Dürnstein, part of a region designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of the prettiest towns along the Danube. Stroll along cobblestone streets past centuries-old houses and wine taverns, marvel at the magnificent blue tower of the town’s Baroque Stiftskirche (abbey church), and see the ruins of the castle where King Richard I of England was once held for ransom.

This afternoon, you may enjoy a guided bike tour from Dürnstein to Melk (if weather permits) or relax on board during a scenic cruise through the beautiful Wachau Valley.

Your ship arrives late this afternoon in Melk, one of Europe’s most renowned spiritual and cultural heritage sites, where the group will tour its spectacular Benedictine Abbey. Afterwards, enjoy free time to explore the charming town of Melk on your own.

Day 7: Passau, Germany - Linz, Austria - Danube Cruise

This morning the ship arrives in Linz. Remain on the ship for a scenic cruise through upper Austria to Passau, a 2,000-year-old city noted for its Gothic and Baroque architecture. You will have a group walking tour of Passau’s Old Town, past the old city fortifications and St. Stephan’s Cathedral, home to Europe’s largest pipe organ.

Optional:
As an alternative, you may join an optional excursion from Linz to Salzburg, where you will have a walking tour of the historic center, the setting for the “Sound of Music” and Mozart’s birthplace. The ship cruises overnight.

Day 8: Regensburg, Germany - Danube Cruise

This afternoon, the ship arrives in Regensburg, one of Germany’s best preserved medieval cities and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. You will have a guided group walking tour of the city’s architectural highlights, including the Old Town Hall and the Porta Praetoria, gates to an ancient Roman fort built in 179 A.D.

Day 9: Nuremberg, Germany - Danube Cruise

Enjoy a scenic morning cruise as the ship crosses the Continental Divide via the Main-Danube Canal and leisurely cruises through the beautiful Altmühl Valley. This afternoon, you have a choice of two tours in Nuremberg. “Medieval Nuremberg” will give you a fascinating overview of this former unofficial capital of the Holy Roman Empire, an ancient city historians consider the epicenter of the German Renaissance. You will see the 900-year-old ramparts, towers and city walls of the Imperial Castle that surround the historic city center, as well as the house where artist Albrecht Dürer once resided. Another sightseeing option is the “World War II” tour that focuses on Nuremberg during the time of the Third Reich. You will visit the Zeppelin Field where Hitler once held Nazi rallies and the Justice Palace courtroom where the War Crimes Tribunal sat in 1946 (when available). The ship moors in Nuremberg overnight.

Day 10: Nuremberg, Germany - Nuremberg - Prague

After breakfast today, you'll disembark from your cruise ship in Nuremberg.

Meet your driver for a private train station transfer in Nuremberg. 

Enjoy a train ride from Nuremberg to Prague. Train ride may take up to 5 hrs. and you have to change the train once.

Enjoy a walking full day city tour with your private guide to the State Opera, the National Museum, Wenceslas Square, and Charles Square. Visit and walk around the Castle courtyards and see St. Vitus Cathedral. Continue along the Vltava to the Old Town, St. Nicholas Church, the Týn Cathedral and the Old Town Hall with its astronomical clock and apostles. Walk from the Powder Tower along the Royal Route to the Old Town Square, along Karlova Street to Charles Bridge and enjoy the view of Prague Castle. Your tour ends at Mala Strana (the Lesser Town).

  • Cancellations of confirmed bookings 90 days or more prior to departure will receive full refund minus a $350 (per person) administrative fee and any non-refundable paid fees (e.g. non-refundable airfare, cruise or hotel deposits). 60-89 days will be subject to loss of 30% of program price. 30-59 days will be subject to loss of 50% of program price. 29 days or less will be subject to loss of 100% of program price.

  • Cost increases in currency exchange, government fees, taxes, surcharges or hotel/lodge tariff increases between quote date and start date are payable by the client.
