Midway between Norway and Iceland the Faroe Islands raise out of the Atlantic Ocean like a hardy little flower. The Islands offer thrilling experiences and a rugged environment: steep cliffs rising from the open sea, narrow straits between the islands, natural harbours surrounded by small villages and a countless number of birds.
The Faroese are proud people, who due to the geographical location have been able to preserve their own culture and their own language which has its roots in the Old Norse language from the Viking Age. History is still an integral part of the daily life – it is one of the few places in the world where you can still experience the old medieval ballads & chain dance, which people in Europe practised more than 800 years ago.
According to The National Geographic Traveler, the Faroe Islands are the most appealing islands and were rated as the No. 1 destination in the world among 111 island communities. The scenery at the Faroe Islands is spectacular. You can experience all four seasons in one day, which is rather unique - all from brilliant sunshine to misty hill fog, to short rain showers. Guaranteed departures from Reykjavik every Monday from July to August.

Frón Hotel
Day 1: Reykjavik
Relax on your airport transfer in Reykjavik with a private vehicle and driver. Please note that a surcharge may be post billed to you if you require a transfer after 8pm or before 7am.
A welcome package with your vouchers, a city map and any other touristic information that you may find useful will be waiting for you upon your arrival at your first hotel on your trip.
Enjoy a half day tour visiting the most important sights of the City. You will see the old town centre, the Parliament, the Cathedral, the harbour, the Pearl and Höfði house, the summit site of 1986. During the tour you will drive past the city's salmon river (which is proof that Reykjavík is a pollution free capital) and the Árbæjarsafn outdoor folk museum, which offers an interesting contrast to the modern buildings of the most recent part of city, and an outdoor swimming pool in Laugardalur which is heated with water from natural hot springs under the city. Visit the Ásmundur Sveinsson Sculpture museum and Hallgrímskirkja Church (whose steeple is a Reykjavík landmark). The tour includes private driver-guide for the tour and entrance fees to the National Museum, Sculpture Museum and Hallgrímskirkja Church.

Thingvellir National Park is a natural wonder on a international scale, with the geologic history and the bio-system of Lake Thingvallavatn forming a unique entity. The faults and fissures of the area make evident the rifting of the earth's crust and the ecosystem of Lake Thingvallavatn is a perfect example of species evolution in nature. The park is one of the most frequently visited tourist sites in Iceland where thousands of visitors go to become better acquainted with Iceland's greatest historical site and jewel of nature. With a 105-foot double-cascade, Gullfoss ("Golden Falls") is by far Europe’s most powerful waterfall.
On a sunlit day, the mist clouds surrounding the hammering falls are filled with dozens of rainbows, providing an unparalleled spectacle of color and motion, making it truly a spectacular sight. The entire Geysir geothermal field is a delight for the senses with hot springs and geysers setting up a delightful performance and shooting jets of water high in the air.
