If you are short for time in Iceland, or you are taking advantage of a stopover on your way to or from Europe, this is a great way to see the main sights of the country in a few short days. Highlights of this tour include airport transfers, centrally located accommodations, and the beauty of the Blue Lagoon, a Golden Circle Tour (Gulfoss, Geysir and Thingvellir) and a whale watching tour.
Enjoy a shared transfer with a stop at the Blue Lagoon on your way to Reykjavik. This transfer departs at multiple times throughout the day. Included: bathing fee at the Blue Lagoon and towel . There is a secure location to store your luggage while at the Lagoon. Also, lockers are available in the change rooms.
Take time to explore Reykjavik at leisure. Surrounded by sea, its waterfront paths are perfect for a leisurely stroll, some jogging, cycling or rollerblading. The city's northern waterfront is a popular area, with a beautiful view of Reykjavik's landmark mountain, Mt. Esja. The city is an intimate size with a big personality and some striking landmarks, including mountains, beautiful buildings both old and modern, a lake and intriguing sculptures. City Hall is an impressive building on the northern shore of Lake Tjornin; stark and modern, it is the neural centre of Reykjavik, connecting nature, water and bird life to the centre of town. Hallgrimskirkja church, the largest church in Iceland, is Reykjavik's main landmark and its tower can be seen from almost everywhere in the city. Hofdi House, built in 1909, might be one of the most beautiful buildings in all of Reykjavik. It is best known as the location for the 1986 summit meeting of presidents Ronald Reagan and Mikhail Gorbatsjov, a historical event that effectively marked the end of the Cold War. Videy Island is a unique site that combines history, culture and nature, and is only a few minutes away from the city by boat. Archaeological excavations have disclosed the fact that the island was inhabited already in the 10th century. In more modern times, the Imagine Peace Tower was inaugurated on the island and is dedicated to the memory of John Lennon on what would have been his 67th birthday.
Spend a couple of hours today on an adventurous boat trip to scan the horizon to find dolphins, minke whales and orca whales. Entrance to Whale Watching Centre is included.
Embark on a full day shared tour taking of The Golden Circle, taking in the Thingvellir National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the Gullfoss waterfall as well as the famous Geysir geothermal area where hot springs and geysers are abundant. Thingvellir National Park is a natural wonder on a international scale, with the geologic history and the bio-system of Lake Thingvallavatn forming a unique entity. The faults and fissures of the area make evident the rifting of the earth's crust and the ecosystem of Lake Thingvallavatn is a perfect example of species evolution in nature. The park is one of the most frequently visited tourist sites in Iceland where thousands of visitors go to become better acquainted with Iceland's greatest historical site and jewel of nature. With a 105-foot double-cascade, Gullfoss ("Golden Falls") is by far Europe’s most powerful waterfall. On a sunlit day, the mist clouds surrounding the hammering falls are filled with dozens of rainbows, providing an unparalleled spectacle of color and motion, making it truly a spectacular sight. The entire Geysir geothermal field is a delight for the senses with hot springs and geysers setting up a delightful performance and shooting jets of water high in the air.
Entrance fee to Geysir Museum and hotel pick up included. Please note: If you wish to enter the Geysir, Strokkur and Blesi hot spring area a new entrance fee of ISK600 per person (aged 16+) is payable locally to the land owners. You may still see the spouting geyser “Strokkur” from the road, if you wish to avoid the fee and do not enter the area.
Enjoy a shared transfer from your hotel to Keflavik Airport. The pickup time should be scheduled with your hotel front desk the evening before departure. Buses depart frequently, consult your Sales Advisor for more info.

"Melissa Field was extremely helpful! She was courteous, professional, knowledgeable, and friendly! She kept me updated on the status of everything and provided timely correspondence. She took ownership for any problems I had and remedied them. I had the most amazing time of my life in Iceland and Paris! I would not have experienced everything without the help of Kensington Tours."

"All of our guides were beyond fabulous! Our time in Dublin was much too short, would have loved to stay there at least one more full day. Would recommend extending this package to 15 days for any future visits. The train to Edinburgh was super! Beautiful scenery and great steak pies!"

"Overall, our tour in Spain was very enjoyable, and well planned and executed. Our private tour of the Alhambra was excellent. Virginia, tour guide for royal palace ruins outside of Cordoba, was also excellent. In Seville, we went to the Flamenco Show/dinner, and the Flamenco was outstanding!"

"My husband and I took a 3 week vacation to southern Europe and North Africa and had a great time. All the guides were very knowledgeable and bent over backwards to accommodate us. The arrangements made by Kensington went off without a hitch. This is our second trip with Kensington (we went to Peru in 2009) and we will certainly book with them again."

"Thank you for your follow up, we both loved our time in Croatia. It’s really a beautiful place, especially the coast. Your choice of hotels was great. It was an incredible view from the Bellevue hotel in Dubrovnik and the Vestibule in Split was in the best possible location. We were able to relax in our room listening to the wonderful singers in the courtyard and its central location made it so easy to walk anywhere we wanted to see with ease. "

"We just returned from a 10 day trip to Paris and Normandy. We spent three nights in Paris and then enjoyed a seven night cruise on the Seine to Normandy with AMA Waterways. The time in Paris was well spent and has piqued our interest to return for a more thorough visit. Guide Wafaa Lankey was superb in our visit to Versailles. The Seine cruise was relaxing and beautiful. So many wonderful little towns and we wished we had more time in each one to explore and enjoy.
We traveled to Croatia and Slovenia using Kensington earlier this year which was a fantastic trip."
