Islandia Hotel (3*) is at a highway about 25 km east of Kirkjubæjarklaustur. The surroundings are known for their warm weather and spectacular views. The hotel offers friendly service and a relaxing atmosphere in beautiful surroundings and is open from 13th of May to 15th of september.
The hotel has 60 spacious standard rooms including rooms for the disabled. All rooms have private facilities with a shower and a beautiful view. The family rooms are equipped with a sleeping couch for 1 adult or 2 children.
The hotel restaurant seats up to 90 people so it is ideal for watching sports events, quiet meals and large gatherings. Adding to the restaurant's finery, spectacular views compliment the food and make the experience all the more memorable. At anytime at the afternoon or evening - you can enjoy a drink or two in the hotel bar. Breakfast hours are 07:00 to 10:00, lunch on request, dinner: 19:00 to 21:00. Bar daily opening hours: 12:00 to 23:00
There are many natural attractions in the surrounding area, including: Vatnajökull, Núpsstaðar forest, Kirkjubæjarklaustur and Lakagígar Lake.
