The main House was completed in the 1880s. In common with most of Connemara, the area surrounding Lough Inagh was owned by the Martin of Ballynahinch Castle. The lodge was totally refurbished in the mid 1980s and has traded as a 4 **** Country House Hotel successfully since. The lodge succeeds in achieving a warm homely feel in a formal setting. The hotel endeavors to facilitate guests in getting the most out of their stay in this exceptional area in the West of Ireland.
Lough Inagh Lodge, Connemara, offers 13 air-conditioned guestrooms located on two floors, all of which have traditional decor with richly patterned fabrics and antique-style furnishings. Amenities include complimentary Internet access, televisions, direct-dial phones, and bathrooms with bathrobes, slippers, hair dryers, and complimentary toiletries.
The hotel has a fine country house dining room that prepares award winning food. The use of locally sourced seafood meats and game when in season are all used in the kitchen by the head chef Julie Flaherty and her team. All produce is delivered direct to the Lodge. Lough Inagh takes great pride in the freshly prepared breakfast buffet every morning with an abundance of juices, cereals and selection of that morning baked breads & fruit scones accompanied with home prepared preserves. The hot breakfasts consist of locally sourced sausages and meats from Local award winning butcher James McGeough of Oughterard.
