Rome is a great place for shopping. There are five main shopping areas: Spanish Steps & Via dei Condotti - This street is one of the richest streets in Italy and one of the best streets for shopping in Rome. The Via Dei Condotti is home to Italy's top designer stores. Via Del Corso – This busy pedestrian street runs from Piazza del Popolo down to Piazza Venezia. It is home to the famous shops like the Ferrari flagship store and Swarowski Crystal. Trastevere – This rather bohemian area of the city with its many winding streets is great for shopping and getting lost in. Be sure to check out the outdoor food market in Piazza San Cosimato where locals bargain with the vendors (7am -2pm).  Viale Marconi and Porta Portese- Viale Marconi is very good for shopping and is particularly popular with young trendy Romans. A bit out from the city centre, it can be reached by talking the Metro Line B to Marconi. It is about 15 minutes away from the Coliseum. Porta Portese is the famous Roman flea market which takes place every Sunday from 8am until about 2pm. Another place of interest for food and market lovers is the Piazza Vittorio where a mesmerizing array of fresh foods, fruits, fish and meat, run by people from all over the world is displayed. Piazza Navona & via del Governo Vecchio – The well-known Piazza Navona is a great place for art lovers, as the surrounding streets contain lots of art galleries and antique shops.

Day 6: Sorrento - Capri

Today, why not explore the beautiful isle of Capri?

Just off the coast of Naples and Salerno, between Cape Miseno and Amalfi, a great rock soars like a dream, lost in the cobalt blue sea that surrounds it. This Mediterranean jewel is the island of Capri. The intoxicating fragrance of flowers, delicate splashes of colour, recollections of a millennial past and a peaceful charm, shattered only by the shrill cry of seagulls, are just some of the magical qualities of this mythical isle.

It is very easy to catch a hydrofoil (type of boat) from the pier in Sorrento, taking 20-25 minutes. On arrival, Capri Town can also be reached via a short ride on the Funicular (train) from the Port area.

Revel in the breathtaking views upon Mont Solaro - the highest place on the island (589 metres above sea level). You have the choice of either walking there, by taking the narrow street at the beginning of Viale Axel Munthe, or by taking the chairlift. Should you wish to relax and enjoy the splendid view of Anacapri and the gulf of Naples, the chairlift is a great option. The chairlift station can be accessed near Piazza Vittoria.

Take a 1 hour walk to view one of the most beautiful walks on the island. Admire the lonely Church of S.Maria in Cetrella. Alternatively, it is a 12 minute chairlift ride from Piazza Vittoria. While in Anacapri, consider visiting the villa San Michele, located on the north-eastern side of 'Anacapri, 327 metres above sea level. This is where an ancient Roman imperial villa was, whose ruins were preserved by Axel Munthe. They are now to be found in the garden.

Note: Hydrofoil costs approximately 12 Euros per person. A ticket needs to be purchased at the ticket office before boarding the Funicular.

  • John D. — June 27, 2016 — Europe

Had a great trip to Spain and Portugal. All went well. No polishing points or constructive feedback to provide. This was the third trip with Kensington in 18 months and all were wonderful.

  • Carlos B. — June 27, 2016 — Europe

It was our first trip to Italy. I can only describe my experience as exceptional. The tour guides were very knowledgeable and friendly. The tours were exceptional and very punctual. The accommodations and transportation were first class. I have already started to recommend Kensington tours and I will definitely will use them in my future trips.

  • Nancy H. — June 27, 2016 — Europe

This was the second tour we have taken with Kensington Tours. This was very different from our first tour but just right for this time. My husband and I traveled with my 85 year old parents. The accommodations and the pace of the travel worked very well. Our guide, Dermot, was very friendly and very understanding of our special needs as well as very knowledgeable. I have already had further communication with him. Thanks for the memorable experience.

  • Molly P. — June 22, 2016 — Europe

Our family loved our week in Iceland. I am 70 and our youngest is 9. Each activity was well suited for the whole group. We changed one event and Kensington Tours immediately helped us cancel one and sign up for a new adventure. When I had questions they helped me out. Their professionalism, kindness, and attentiveness made our trip a complete success. Thank you!

  • Tammy M. — June 22, 2016 — Europe

Jessica Clements was a tremendous help as my husband and I planned our pre-cruise visit to Athens and the Peloponnese. Many thanks for all your efforts. We enjoyed our tours very much. Our guides, Niki Stavrakaki and Andronikos Sakatos, were phenomenal. Our drivers, Makias and Demetrios, were very professional and delightful gentlemen. We had a great time exploring many of the ancient sites we've dreamed of seeing for years.

  • Caroline W. — June 22, 2016 — Europe

Transfers were seamless and activities were great. Overall, we are very impressed with Kensington!

  • Beth N. — June 15, 2016 — Europe

Everything exceeded our expectations!!! Our guides were amazing. Our hotels were wonderful. I wouldn't change anything about our trip! Thanks for your help!

  • Dalia D. — June 15, 2016 — Europe

I am so glad that I used Kensington Tours to help me plan my trip to Italy. Ingryd was an excellent agent - she understood exactly what was important to my family and every aspect of our trip from Rome to Florence to Venice was well planned and enjoyable, with no hiccups. We made changes to our schedule when in Italy and the local agents were very responsive and quickly adapted our plans to work better for us. We loved the personal attention we got on our private guided tours and felt we learned a lot from knowledgeable guides that were personable and very informative.

  • Barbara K. — June 08, 2016 — Europe

Another fabulous trip! John O'Connell was so congenial and knowledgeable. I feel like he has become a new friend. We had a great time with him and he made some excellent recommendations for small changes in our itinerary. He was so attentive and caring with my mother too! A really sweet man. Sean Finnigan in Dublin was a bundle of energy - took us to the museum to see the gold exhibit which we knew nothing about - so glad he did! Bought my sister and I a postcard of the Book of Kells alphabet as a remembrance - so kind! It was a trip we will never forget!!

  • Samuel T. — June 08, 2016 — Europe

Wonderful preparation! Great time and great planning. Definitely use them again in the future.
