A privately driven vehicle will provide a train station transfer today. Sit back, relax and enjoy the scenery as you ride the Eurostar train from Rome to Naples. The approximate travel time is 1 hour and 10 minutes.
This evening, meet your driver at the Naples train station for a private transfer to Sorrento. En route you will have the opportunity to stop for two hours at the ruins of Pompeii. Your English speaking guide will meet you and bring you through the fascinating site. Walk through some of the ancient streets of Pompeii where you can see the baths, forums and villas built by the prosperous Romans in the year 80 BC. Marvel at the fabulously preserved frescoes which adorned the walls and floors of the villas. Your trip will continue along the highway to Herculaneum. Herculaneum was destroyed along with Pompeii in 79 AD and rediscovered in 1709. The site offers a more intimate and detailed exploration than Pompeii. A residential town without Pompeii’s commercial importance, it was surrounded by villas of the wealthy Romans, and submerged under a torrent of mud that preserved many of the timber features and household objects which can still be seen today. You will then continue your drive to Sorrento. For your convenience, this tour includes entrance to the site of Pompeii and Herculaneum.
The Grand Hotel La Favorita (4*) is an enchanting deluxe hotel, situated in the heart of Sorrento’s Historical quarter, on the corner between the Tasso and Vittorio Veneto roads. It emerges on the corner of Sorrento’ s most famous alley ways; its vast terrace embraces the spectacular view of the gulf of Naples, with the grand volcano Vesuvius taking centre stage. The hotel is decorated in a neo classic style with touches of modern decor. The 85 rooms are beautifully furnished, offering both comfort and style. A warm and elegant ambience, modern and classic designs - these are only some of the terms to describe the restaurant "Snack Bellavista". Enjoy a traditional dinner at La Favorita’s Indoor Restaurant, where local and seasonal products are expertly prepared by the chef. The hotel La Favorita has a spectacular top floor swimming pool surrounded by sun beds, providing the perfect place to relax.
Enjoy a full day of the beautiful Amalfi Coast on a private tour with an English speaking guide and private vehicle. There are plenty of interesting villages and sites in the area that are worth exploring, including Ravello, Amalfi and Cetara. Approaching from above Positano, one is greeted by a vista of lemon and orange groves, flowers, trees, small allotments, olive groves and gardens which continue right down to the sea. Feel free to explore Positano on the completely pedestrianized streets, while stopping to enjoy a coffee or lunch (not included). So characteristic of Positano: its buildings cling in tiers to the rock face and the small houses, all huddling on top of each other. The white of the buildings form a perfect canvas for the bright flowers which decorate the houses. The small artisan shops with their multi-hued cloths, present the visitor with a vista which is almost difficult to believe. The picturesque town of Ravello, some 5km from Amalfi, has a number of must-see sites. Due to their splendor and décor, visit the Villa Rufolo from the XII century, built by Rufolo's family, as well as Villa Cimbrone. Both villas have an amazingly beautiful garden to visit. Admire one of the best panoramic views of Italy at Villa Cimbrone, on all the Amalfi Coast, and on the Coast of Cilento. The pretty town of Amalfi features a series of white houses, most with barrel vault ceilings and built on terraces within a picturesque web of alleys and stairways. The main monument and symbol of the city is the Cathedral of St. Andrew, preceded by an imposing staircase. Further along the coast lies the town of Cetara. For centuries, it was influenced by the financial and spiritual fortunes of the Benedictine abbey in Cava dei Tirreni. Nowadays, it is dominated by its busy fishing harbor. Depending on time and your preference, the day will be spent visiting these beautiful towns and stopping off at scenic points along the way. For your convenience, entrance to Chiostro Paradiso is included.

Today, why not explore the beautiful isle of Capri?
Just off the coast of Naples and Salerno, between Cape Miseno and Amalfi, a great rock soars like a dream, lost in the cobalt blue sea that surrounds it. This Mediterranean jewel is the island of Capri. The intoxicating fragrance of flowers, delicate splashes of colour, recollections of a millennial past and a peaceful charm, shattered only by the shrill cry of seagulls, are just some of the magical qualities of this mythical isle.
It is very easy to catch a hydrofoil (type of boat) from the pier in Sorrento, taking 20-25 minutes. On arrival, Capri Town can also be reached via a short ride on the Funicular (train) from the Port area.
Revel in the breathtaking views upon Mont Solaro - the highest place on the island (589 metres above sea level). You have the choice of either walking there, by taking the narrow street at the beginning of Viale Axel Munthe, or by taking the chairlift. Should you wish to relax and enjoy the splendid view of Anacapri and the gulf of Naples, the chairlift is a great option. The chairlift station can be accessed near Piazza Vittoria.
Take a 1 hour walk to view one of the most beautiful walks on the island. Admire the lonely Church of S.Maria in Cetrella. Alternatively, it is a 12 minute chairlift ride from Piazza Vittoria. While in Anacapri, consider visiting the villa San Michele, located on the north-eastern side of 'Anacapri, 327 metres above sea level. This is where an ancient Roman imperial villa was, whose ruins were preserved by Axel Munthe. They are now to be found in the garden.
Note: Hydrofoil costs approximately 12 Euros per person. A ticket needs to be purchased at the ticket office before boarding the Funicular.
You will be warmly greeted by the driver of your private vehicle for the transfer to Naples Airport.
Depart Naples Airport. End of itinerary.

"My husband and I took a 3 week vacation to southern Europe and North Africa and had a great time. All the guides were very knowledgeable and bend over backwards to accommodate us. The arrangement made by Kensington went off without a hitch. This is our second trip with Kensington (we went to Peru in 2009) and we will certainly book with them again."
