Enjoy the train transfer from Rome to Naples. Travel time is approx. 1 hour 10 min.
Meet your driver at the Naples train station for a private transfer to Sorrento. En route you will stop (2hrs) at the ruins of Pompeii. Your English speaking guide will meet you and bring you through the fascinating site. Walk through some of the ancient streets of Pompeii where you can see the baths, forums and villas built by the prosperous Romans in the year 80 BC. Marvel at the fabulously preserved frescoes which adorned the walls and floors of the villas. Your trip will continue along the highway to Herculaneum. Herculaneum was destroyed along with Pompeii in 79 AD and rediscovered in 1709. The site offers a more intimate and detailed exploration than Pompeii. A residential town without Pompeii’s commercial importance, it was surrounded by villas of the wealthy Romans, and submerged under a torrent of mud that preserved many of the timber features and household objects which can still be seen today. Continue your drive to Sorrento. (Includes entrance to the site of Pompeii and Herculaneum).
The Grand Hotel La Favorita (4*) is an enchanting deluxe hotel, situated in the heart of Sorrento’s Historical quarter, on the corner between the Tasso and Vittorio Veneto roads. It emerges on the corner of Sorrento’ s most famous alley ways; its vast terrace embraces the spectacular view of the gulf of Naples, with the grand volcano Vesuvius taking centre stage. The hotel is decorated in a neo classic style with touches of modern. The 85 rooms are each approx 17mtrs and are all acoustically sound proofed, to add a peaceful nights sleep or why not, an afternoon siesta, to your hectic days out visiting what Sorrento has to offer, in terms of walks in the country, visiting the centre shopping, or sun bathing. A warm and elegant ambience, modern and classic designs - these are only some of the terms to describe the restaurant "Snack Bellavista". The hotel La Favorita has a spectacular top floor swimming pool surrounded by sun beds we supply pool towels and sun brollies. The quiet solarium will offer you soft background music, never to intrusive, but will help relax you.
Enjoy a full day private tour of the Amalfi coast with an English speaking guide, private vehicle and driver. There are lots of interesting villages and sites in the area that are worth exploring including Ravello & Amalfi and Cetara. Approaching from above Positano, one is greeted by a vista of lemon and orange groves, flowers, trees, small allotments, olive groves and gardens which continues right down to the sea. Positano is completely pedestrianized and a great place to stroll through and enjoy a coffee or lunch (not included). It's buildings cling, in tiers to the rock face and the small houses, all huddling on top of each other, so characteristic of Positano, form the subject of endless photos. The vibrant colors; the white of the buildings, forming a perfect canvas for the bright flowers which decorate the houses, and the small artisans', shops with their multihued cloths, present the visitor with a vista which is almost difficult to believe. The picturesque town of Ravello, some 5km from Amalfi, has a number of must-see sites including the Villa Rufolo, from the XII century, built by the Rufolo's family and Villa Cimbrone, due to their splendor and decor. Both villas have an amazingly beautiful garden to visit. Indeed, from Villa Cimbrone, you can admire one of the best panoramic views of Italy, on all the Amalfi Coast, and on the Coast of Cilento. The pretty town of Amalfi features a series of white houses, most with barrel vault ceilings and built on terraces within a picturesque web of alleys and stairways. The main monument and symbol of the city is the Cathedral of St. Andrew, preceded by an imposing staircase. Further along the coast lies the town of Cetara. For centuries, it was influenced by the financial and spiritual fortunes of the Benedictine abbey in Cava dei Tirreni; nowadays it is dominated by its busy fishing harbor. Depending on time and your preference, the day will be spent visiting these beautiful towns and stopping off at scenic points along the way. Entrance to Chiostro Paradiso included.

Today, why not explore the beautiful isle of Capri?
Just off the coast of Naples and Salerno, between Cape Miseno and Amalfi, a great rock soars like a dream lost in the cobalt blue sea that surrounds it. This Mediterranean jewel is the island of Capri. The intoxicating fragrance of flowers, delicate splashes of colour, recollections of a millennial past and a peaceful charm, shattered only by the shrill cry of seagulls, are just some of the magical qualities of this mythical isle.
It is very easy to catch a hydrofoil from the pier in Sorrento (it takes 20-25 minutes and costs approx. 12 euros per person). On arrival Capri Town can be reached also via funicolare (train) from the Port area: a ticket needs to be purchased at the ticket office before boarding the funicolare – it’s a very short ride..
Go up to Mont Solaro - the highest place on the island (589 metres above sea level) and revel in the breathtaking views. You can either walk there (by taking the narrow street at the beginning of Viale Axel Munthe) or take the chairlift. The chairlift station is quite near Piazza Vittoria and allows you to reach the top quite quickly while you enjoy a splendid view of Anacapri and the gulf of Naples.
The way back on foot is one of the most beautiful walks on the island. The quite smooth route allows also a visit to Cetrella, where you can admire the lonely church of S. Maria. (12 minutes by chairlift from Piazza Vittoria: about 1 hr on foot). While in Anacapri, consider visiting the villa San Michele, located on the north-eastern side of 'Anacapri, 327 metres above sea level. Here was an ancient Roman imperial villa, whose ruins were preserved by Axel Munthe and are now to be found in the garden.
Airport transfer from Sorrento accommodation with private vehicle and driver to Naples Airport.
Depart Naples Airport. End of itinerary.

"Overall, our tour in Spain was very enjoyable, and well planned and executed. Our private tour of the Alhambra was excellent. Virginia, tour guide for royal palace ruins outside of Cordoba, was also excellent. In Seville, we went to the Flamenco Show/dinner, and the Flamenco was outstanding!"

"My husband and I took a 3 week vacation to southern Europe and North Africa and had a great time. All the guides were very knowledgeable and bend over backwards to accommodate us. The arrangement made by Kensington went off without a hitch. This is our second trip with Kensington (we went to Peru in 2009) and we will certainly book with them again."

"Thank you for your follow up, we both loved our time in Croatia. It’s really a beautiful place, especially the coast. Our time in Dubrovnik and Split were awesome, in hind sight we both wished we would have went back to Split from Plitvice Lakes rather than carry on to Zagreb. We both found Split much more appealing and would have definitely preferred to spend another night there rather than Zagreb. We’ll know for next time! Your choice of hotels was great. It was an incredible view from the Bellevue hotel in Dubrovnik and the Vestibule in Split was in the best possible location. We were able to relax in our room listening to the wonderful singers in the courtyard and its central location made it so easy to walk anywhere we wanted to see with ease. "
