Rome is a great place for shopping. There are five main shopping areas: Spanish Steps & Via dei Condotti - This street is one of the richest streets in Italy and one of the best streets for shopping in Rome. The Via Dei Condotti is home to Italy's top designer stores. Via Del Corso – This busy pedestrian street runs from Piazza del Popolo down to Piazza Venezia. It is home to the famous shops like the Ferrari flagship store and Swarowski Crystal. Trastevere – This rather bohemian area of the city with its many winding streets is great for shopping and getting lost in. Be sure to check out the outdoor food market in Piazza San Cosimato where locals bargain with the vendors. (7am -2pm.) - Viale Marconi and Porta Portese- Viale Marconi is very good for shopping and is particularly popular with young trendy Romans. A bit out from the city centre, it can be reached by talking the Metro Line B to Marconi. It is about 15 minutes away from the Coliseum. Porta Portese is the famous Roman flea market which takes place every Sunday from 8am until about 2pm. Another place of interest for food and market lovers is the Piazza Vittorio where a mesmerizing array of fresh foods, fruits, fish and meat, run by people from all over the world is displayed. Piazza Navona & via del Governo Vecchio – The well known Piazza Navona is a great place for art lovers, as the surrounding streets contain lots of art galleries and antique shops.

Enjoy a full day private tour of the Amalfi coast with an English speaking guide, private vehicle and driver. There are lots of interesting villages and sites in the area that are worth exploring including Ravello & Amalfi and Cetara. Approaching from above Positano, one is greeted by a vista of lemon and orange groves, flowers, trees, small allotments, olive groves and gardens which continues right down to the sea. Positano is completely pedestrianized and a great place to stroll through and enjoy a coffee or lunch (not included). It's buildings cling, in tiers to the rock face and the small houses, all huddling on top of each other, so characteristic of Positano, form the subject of endless photos. The vibrant colors; the white of the buildings, forming a perfect canvas for the bright flowers which decorate the houses, and the small artisans', shops with their multihued cloths, present the visitor with a vista which is almost difficult to believe. The picturesque town of Ravello, some 5km from Amalfi, has a number of must-see sites including the Villa Rufolo, from the XII century, built by the Rufolo's family and Villa Cimbrone, due to their splendor and decor. Both villas have an amazingly beautiful garden to visit. Indeed, from Villa Cimbrone, you can admire one of the best panoramic views of Italy, on all the Amalfi Coast, and on the Coast of Cilento. The pretty town of Amalfi features a series of white houses, most with barrel vault ceilings and built on terraces within a picturesque web of alleys and stairways. The main monument and symbol of the city is the Cathedral of St. Andrew, preceded by an imposing staircase. Further along the coast lies the town of Cetara. For centuries, it was influenced by the financial and spiritual fortunes of the Benedictine abbey in Cava dei Tirreni; nowadays it is dominated by its busy fishing harbor. Depending on time and your preference, the day will be spent visiting these beautiful towns and stopping off at scenic points along the way. Entrance to Chiostro Paradiso included.
Today, why not explore the beautiful isle of Capri?
Just off the coast of Naples and Salerno, between Cape Miseno and Amalfi, a great rock soars like a dream lost in the cobalt blue sea that surrounds it. This Mediterranean jewel is the island of Capri. The intoxicating fragrance of flowers, delicate splashes of colour, recollections of a millennial past and a peaceful charm, shattered only by the shrill cry of seagulls, are just some of the magical qualities of this mythical isle.
It is very easy to catch a hydrofoil from the pier in Sorrento (it takes 20-25 minutes and costs approx. 12 euros per person). On arrival Capri Town can be reached also via funicolare (train) from the Port area: a ticket needs to be purchased at the ticket office before boarding the funicolare – it’s a very short ride..
Go up to Mont Solaro - the highest place on the island (589 metres above sea level) and revel in the breathtaking views. You can either walk there (by taking the narrow street at the beginning of Viale Axel Munthe) or take the chairlift. The chairlift station is quite near Piazza Vittoria and allows you to reach the top quite quickly while you enjoy a splendid view of Anacapri and the gulf of Naples.
The way back on foot is one of the most beautiful walks on the island. The quite smooth route allows also a visit to Cetrella, where you can admire the lonely church of S. Maria. (12 minutes by chairlift from Piazza Vittoria: about 1 hr on foot). While in Anacapri, consider visiting the villa San Michele, located on the north-eastern side of 'Anacapri, 327 metres above sea level. Here was an ancient Roman imperial villa, whose ruins were preserved by Axel Munthe and are now to be found in the garden.

This walking tour begins with a visit to the Uffizi Gallery, boasting some true masterpieces of art including Raphael’s “Madonna of the Goldfinch” and Leonardo Da Vinci’s “The Annunciation.” The tour continues with a walk through the Signoria Square to marvel at the re-created duplicate of Michelangelo’s statue of “David.” Next is a visit to the elegant Ponte Vecchio, which translates to “old-bridge,” dating back to 1345, this bridge was actually built to replace the once previous bridge structure that was unfortunately swept away during a vicious flood. Along either end of the bridge, take this opportunity to view, and purchase if you’d like, some of the many items for sale including souvenirs, snacks and jewelry. Your final visits on this tour include stops at the 14th century Cathedral Square to view the Duomo, the Baptistery and Giotto’s Bell Tower.
From posh designer brands like Armani, Gucci, Versace and Ferragamo to locally created hand-crafts, souvenirs, quality leathers and traditional clothing, the city of Florence is a never-ending dream for shopping enthusiasts. For those searching for ancient relics and traditional crafted antiques, Via Maggio is the street for you. The shops and merchants on this street boast numerous "Objects d'Art" and furnishings that are sure to create an atmosphere straight out of the 16th century. Via del Tornabuoni is considered Florence's 5th Avenue, featuring shops lined with best quality leather products, elegantly expensive shoes, and modernly stylish clothing boutiques. It is here where you'll find all the “big brand names” products as well as the posh, and potentially upcoming Italian styles. Along the way, from the wide panoramic windows of your coach, you will be able to spot the medieval hamlet of Monteriggioni, enclosed by its famous walls which remain standing to this day. Upon arrival in Siena, you will enjoy a guided tour of the old town centre: you will walk along its narrow medieval streets admiring its splendid palaces until you reach the magnificent Cathedral (Sundays and National Holidays The Cathedral is closed, it is replaced with the Basilica of San Domenico), of which you can visit the superb interior and the amazing frescoes of the Libreria Piccolomini. The guided visit continues with a tour in a Museum and an Oratory of a Contrada, (if not accessible, the visit will include the Opera del Duomo Museum (Cathedral ‘s Museum)), where you can experience the authentic atmosphere of the town. The Contrada (districts into which the town is divided) are the real core of the local social life, where inhabitants of each district compete with each other as they devote themselves to preparations for the well-known Palio horse-race. The contrada is not simply a district: it is a small state having its own legacy of traditions, memories and emotions, including its own flag and anthem. The Museum of a contrada, as well as its Oratory, is therefore the heart of the district. This is an intimate and secret place - with exclusive access - containing historical documents and wonderful relics of the famous Palio, as well as magnificent works of art which are normally not disclosed to the public. The guided tour of Siena ends in its most beautiful square, Piazza del Campo, of which the Palazzo Pubblico (town hall) is the main point. Free time is available for lunch (not included). After lunch break, you will leave for San Gimignano, a tiny walled town located on a hill-top, intact through the centuries and famous for its numerous tall towers, frescoes and other valuable works of art. There, you are welcomed in a small and fascinating museum, inside a medieval palace. A local guide will introduce you to the history and traditions of this wonderful town through a faithful and evocative reconstruction of how it was in the XIV century. Moreover, you will be able to watch how skilled craftsmen produce handmade objects according to a long standing tradition of excellence. "Thank you for your follow up, we both loved our time in Croatia. It’s really a beautiful place, especially the coast. Our time in Dubrovnik and Split were awesome, in hind sight we both wished we would have went back to Split from Plitvice Lakes rather than carry on to Zagreb. We both found Split much more appealing and would have definitely preferred to spend another night there rather than Zagreb. We’ll know for next time! Your choice of hotels was great. It was an incredible view from the Bellevue hotel in Dubrovnik and the Vestibule in Split was in the best possible location. We were able to relax in our room listening to the wonderful singers in the courtyard and its central location made it so easy to walk anywhere we wanted to see with ease. "
