Rome is a city that many people dream of seeing, even if it is just a glimpse of one of the world's most historical metropolitan areas. This tour is a perfect opportunity to enjoy a small taste of Rome. You will pass by the Vatican walls, which define the area of the Vatican City, the Lungotevere and the Ara Pacis. You will proceed towards the old Roman walls and the famous Villa Borghese, through Porta Pinciana and into the old town. You will see Via Veneto, the symbol of the Italian dolce vita, Piazza Venezia, the Coliseum, the Arch of Constantine and the Circus Maximus. You will arrive at the St. Peter's Basilica area where you will have time to explore independently the biggest Basilica in the world or stroll around the famous St. Peter's Square (whispers included). You will then be driven back to your hotel.
Hop aboard your privately driven vehicle, accompanied by an experienced local guide, outside your hotel for a 4 hour cultural journey through the center of Christianity, the Vatican. You're sure to be fascinated by the impressive collection of art and sculpture at the Vatican Museum and surely awe-struck by Michelangelo's surreal masterpiece which illuminates the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel. His conception and execution of both the "Creation of the World" and "Last Judgment" are to this day hailed as one of the world's greatest achievements in art. Marvel at the Baroque and Renaissance inspired magnificence that is St. Peter's Basilica featuring some 800 plus pillars, 44 altars and numerous heavenly created sculptures and paintings. Constructed over 100 years, St. Peter's Basilica is by far the largest and most renowned Catholic Church in the World. Whilst touring this holy hollows, speaking at a high tone is not permitted, so for this reason you will provided with a radio headset which your guide will whisper descriptions and information regarding this epic monument of Christianity. Upon completion of the tour, a return transfer to your hotel is provided. Entrance fee to Vatican Museum included.

Sit back and enjoy the scenery as it passes you by during this train ride departing Rome and arriving in Bologna. This transfer will take approximately 2 hours and 20 minutes.
Set out on 2 hour guided tour through beautiful Bologna accompanied by an English speaking guide. Immerse yourself into the rich culture of this historical city boasting magnificent medieval markets, spectacular squares and plazas and mouth-watering dining compilations. Begin with a visit to a traditional bakery, followed by an informative visit to a local pasta connoisseur’s where you’ll learn about the production of two famous provincial types of pasta, Tortellini and Tagliatelle. Next, you’ll visit Beccari’s Salsamenteria to uncover the history of cured Mortadella, from the ancient techniques used in the third century BC to the modern methods used today. From savoury to sweet, the highlight for many on this tour is a visit to a traditional chocolatier. Learn all about how solid chocolate was invented whilst sampling on various types of this heavenly treat. A visit to a typical “Osteria” or tavern will conclude your Bolognese inspired day tour. Depart from your hotel for a gourmet tour by private vehicle and English speaking driver-guide. You will visit a traditional Parmigiano Reggiano cheese producer followed by a tasting. Next you will stop to take some pictures of the impressive Torrechiara Castle and surrounding area. Continue with a visit to a local wine producer situated in the scenic hills of Parma. Here you will tour the cellar, followed by lunch and local wine tasting. Visit a traditional Prosciutto di Parma producer Il Salumiere and an authentic “Acetaia,” Modena’s famous balsamic vinegar lofts, followed by a tasting. After the tour concludes you will return to your hotel. Lunch and wine tasting in two wineries are included.

You will be met at your hotel by your English speaking escort & private driver to head to a very nice farmhouse situated near Massa, between the Apuan Alps and the seaside) where a welcome drink will be awaiting for you. You will then be divided into smaller groups each of which you will learn to make a typical local dish (Focaccia, homemade pasta and rice cake). At the end of the cooking lessons, the recipes will be explained to the rest of the groups and lunch will be served (including what has been taught). For each course, a wine that suits what you are eating will be provided so that you get a chance to taste a total of 1 white wine, 1 red wine and 1 sweet wine. Coffee is also served after you meal. At the end of your lunch, you’ll drive down to the famous Carrara for some free time before returning to your hotel.

"We just returned from a 10 day trip to Paris and Normandy. We spent three nights in Paris and then enjoyed a seven night cruise on the Seine to Normandy with AMA Waterways. The time in Paris was well spent and has piqued our interest to return for a more thorough visit. Guide Wafaa Lankey was superb in our visit to Versailles. The Seine cruise was relaxing and beautiful. So many wonderful little towns and we wished we had more time in each one to explore and enjoy.
We traveled to Croatia and Slovenia using Kensington earlier this year which was a fantastic trip."
