Fretheim Hotel (3*) is a beautiful wooden building situated at the head of a scenic fjord arm of the famous Sognefjord. Our hotel dates back to the 1870s. We believe in honouring its long traditions, while making sure we have modern amenities and comfort that are well suited to today's guests. The newest wing of our hotel was added in 2000, with the most visible distinction being the glass façade. In the historic wing of our hotel, we have made every effort to preserve the old feel of Fretheim Hotel – in fact it appears much the same now as when it greeted travellers in the 19th century.
The oldest portion of the hotel, which comprises elegant lounges, banquet rooms and conference facilities, is now fully renovated. The historical interiors are very much intact, with antique furniture and large fireplaces. An impressive library has been added to the first floor of the old English Villa. In the main house where hotel founder Christen Fretheim lived, today's guests are greeted by historically furnished rooms, complete with antique furniture, clawfoot bathtubs and draw-chain toilets, as well as many other historically correct details.
Fretheim Hotel features comfortable and cozy standard rooms with full bathroom and internet access.
Balcony and Fjord View rooms are spacious and comfortable with stunning views of gorgeous nature around the hotel. The rooms feature full bathroom and internet access.
