Hotel Britania is a genuine Art Deco Boutique Hotel in the Historic Centre of Lisbon. Located on a quiet street right alongside the cosmopolitan Avenida da Liberdade. The only hotel to remain intact until today, this hotel records the glamour of the 1940's. Everything about its design strives to reawaken the spirit of the unit without losing its original soul. The rooms conserve ample dimensions as well as the cork floor. The warm colours contrast with the elegant lines of the furniture and the luster light fittings. The recovery of the whole building is exemplary as is the case of the paintings in the bar alluding to the Portuguese overseas empire.
The guest rooms include double glazing, flat-screen TVs and CD/DVD players. They have private bathrooms with bathrobes and slippers. Attention to minute detail and ambiance are notable. Decorated in a typically Portuguese style.
Tradition and modernity living side by side. The spacious guest rooms all equipped with a anteroom and marble bathroom, are equipped with air-conditioning, a free safe, satellite TV, free access to broad band wireless, LCD TV, DVD/CD reader, Molton Brown amenities, hairdryer and bath robes.
Full buffet breakfast is served from 7.30am in the lounge every morning. It’s a plentiful and varied spread; choose from fresh fruit salad and strawberries and just-baked pastries, or bacon, eggs, cold meats, grilled vegetables and a selection of cheeses. In elegant contrast to the lobby’s vanilla and milky marble hues, Bar do Império, just to the right of the hotel’s main entrance, is a caramel and fudge treasure trove that’s kitted out in gleaming, glossy wood. Admire the original wall paintings, if you can peel your eyes away from the geometric patterned original cork floor, which is polished to such a sheen that you’ll be looking for your own reflection.
