Day 1: Bucharest - Suceava

Day 2: Suceava - Gura Humorului
Meet your guide for a city tour of Suceava. For a long time, Suceava was Moldavia’s Capital. Stephen the Great made the local citadel stronger and most people associate it with his ruling. The Village Museum, not as large as in Bucharest or Sibiu but of equal value, will be a welcomed relaxing spot in the noise of the city. Continue to Gura Humorului, a mountain resort housing the Ethnography Museum, one of the most impressive museums in the area. Visit Voronet Monastery – the Sistine Chapel of the East.

Cacica Salt Mine
Day 3: Gura Humorului
Visit the salt mine in Cacica, with the galleries, the “Ball room”, the chapel. While in Cacica village, visit the local cathedral, a pilgrimage place for the Catholics; until 1949, a train was connecting Vienna with Cacica every year around 15th of August; Pope John the 2nd granted to the cathedral the title of “Basilica Minor”. Departure towards Campulung Moldovenesc, where you will visit the Wood Art Museum and the Hunting Museum. You will make your own carved wooden spoon to take back home. Continue to the small village of Ciocanesti, to see the beautiful traditional houses and enjoy meeting a local family: taste a local sweet desert and a traditional strong drink.

Putna Monastery
Day 4: Gura Humorului
For many people, Bucovina is equal Monasteries. It is a must to see some of the most impressive cult sites in Romania, so we will continue our tour with some of the best preserved churches built by Stephen the Great. Visit Moldovita Monastery, UNESCO heritage site, proudly honored with the “Golden Apple”. Continue to Sucevita, with its “Sucevita green”, then stop in Marginea, with its famous, unique, black pottery. Last stop of the day: Putna Monastery, where Daniil Sihastrul monk cell and the legends will make a wonderful day end perfectly.

A valid passport is required. U.S. and Canadian citizen visitors are granted 90 days of stay without a visa within a given six-month period. Foreigners are required to carry identification documents at all times.

- Your deposit is due immediately on booking (30% of program price, minimum $350). The balance is due 90 days prior to departure.
- Cancellations of confirmed bookings 90 days or more prior to departure will receive full refund minus a $350 (per person) administrative fee and any non-refundable paid fees (e.g. non-refundable airfare, cruise or hotel deposits). 60-89 days will be subject to loss of 30% of program price. 30-59 days will be subject to loss of 50% of program price. 29 days or less will be subject to loss of 100% of program price.
- Tour quotes do not include airfare to/from the trip start point unless noted on the itinerary
- Cost increases in currency exchange, government fees, taxes, surcharges or hotel/lodge tariff increases between quote date and start date are payable by the client.
- Availability cannot be guaranteed until booked. We will exercise best efforts to book hotels per the itinerary, however, in busy seasons and with client bookings made within 90 days of tour date we may be forced to offer substitutes.
