Day 1: Edinburgh

For your added comfort, you will have an English-speaking assistant waiting for you outside of customs with a sign with your name on it. Your representative will help you to co-ordinate meeting up with your private driver and accompany you to your accommodation.

A welcome package with a city map, train tickets (if relevant), and any other touristic information that we deem you may find useful will be waiting for you upon your arrival at your first hotel on your trip.

Avail of any of the optional tours available in the thriving city of Edinburgh. Consider a private tour with your own Licensed Guide and private vehicle if you have any interest in a certain aspect of the city such as the architecture or history - or if you just want to get a great indepth introduction to the city. Consider doing a guided walking tour - one of the best ways to see the city. If you feel like venturing out of the city, there are lots of places of interest such as Blair castle, Perth, whiskey distilleries, Cairngorm National Park - for a Lough ness themed tour, and the majestic Sterling castle sitting on its high volcanic rock, visible for many miles in every direction. Please speak to your Sales Advisor if any of these options are of interest.

Enjoy an unmissable evening of Scottish music, costume, bagpipes, fiddles and dance in the magically historic setting of Prestonfield House.  Lavishly filled with baroque plasterwork, panelling, tapestries, paintings and furniture, many of these splendid original contents commissioned for the house remain to be enjoyed by guests today, including an imposing portrait of King Charles II which gazes down over diners in the restaurant. Named as one of the Best 101 Hotels in the World by style-bible Tatler. Prestonfield is described by Conde Nast Traveller Magazine as so extravagant it’s like walking onto the set of some flamboyant costume drama.

Enjoy exceptional entertainment with wine and a gourmet dinner this evening served by kilted waiters, just moments from the Royal Mile. The meal consists of traditional Scottish fare, including a choice of 2 options for each course for main course, a desert, tea/coffee and a half bottle of wine. (Please note this is a sample menu: Appetiser: Orkney Clapshot Soup - A creamy carrot, turnip and potato soup or Gamekeeper’s Pâté - Rustic venison terrine with red cabbage chutney. Main course: Scotch Beef Auld Alliance - Silverside of Scottish beef braised with French claret jus, skirlie potatoes and heather-honey-roast vegetables or Scottish Seafood - Scottish salmon, hake and Finnan haddie, creamy Mornay sauce encased in puff pastry. Desert: Prestonfield’s Jubilee Cranachan - Raspberry mousse, toasted oatmeal, butterscotch and Parlie biscuit or Great Chieftain O the Puddin Race - A taste of traditional haggis, ‘neeps and tatties. Tea or Coffee and clotted cream fudge).

(Transfer to and from event not included). Arrive by 6:45. Dinner 7pm. Show 8-10pm.

Day 2: Edinburgh

Enjoy a private half day tour with your own vehicle and local guide to show you around the city's top sights including Edinburgh castle, St. Giles Cathedral, Holyrood palace and Scott monument. Entrance fee and guide services at Edinburgh Castle are included.

The Witchery Restaurant located on the Royal Mile is a great place for dinner. The 16th century building located close to the Castle is lit exclusively by candlelight. The tapestry-draped main dining room is an ode to opulence: the seats are a rich red leather, the ceiling is gilded, and the walls are covered with oak panels salvaged from an old cathedral. The Secret Garden annex, meanwhile, is full of brass candlesticks and stone statues, and displays a series of painted doors that tell the story of Edinburgh's wine trade with France. The menu is equally sumptuous, offering dishes such as melt-in-your-mouth steak tartare, rabbit wrapped in Parma ham with tea-soaked prunes, and loin of roe deer with an earthy black pudding. But be sure to save room for the desserts — from the chocolate torte to the bramble, sherry and mascarpone trifle, they make a wickedly decadent end to the meal. Please speak to your Sales Advisor if you would like to have a reservation made for you.

  • Joy L. — August 10, 2016 — Europe

Private tours were the best. Enjoyed being able to stop and see sights big groups wouldn't be able to do.

  • Tilda B. — August 10, 2016 — Europe

Our agent Enrique was phenomenal. He booked every aspect of our trip, from transportation, tour and hotel. All we had to do was show up. Best vacation!!

  • Gary C. — August 10, 2016 — Europe

My excellent experience with Kensington Tours started with Michelle Callaghan, a consultant for Ireland and UK, followed by a very friendly and knowledgeable person in KT Air, ending with our guide Paul Wilson who my whole family loved. I am lucky enough to have traveled internationally for both business and pleasure for decades, therefore I have to compare. The entire experience with Kensington, from start to finish, was a 10.

  • Elizabeth M. — August 10, 2016 — Europe

I love being able to call Kensington and tell their agents where I want to go and what I'd like to see when at my destination. All I do is pack my suitcase and from the moment my plane lands, I am taken care of and looked after. It turns a "trip" into a "vacation" as well. It's hassle free, first rate.

  • Margarette H. — August 10, 2016 — Europe

We enjoyed the trip immensely! All our tour guides did a good job. I'd like to especially call out Alexandra from Lisbon and Javier from Toledo as outstanding. Our primary drivers Jose in Lisbon and Muhammad in Morocco were also outstanding! Special appreciation for our Riad accommodations in Marrakech which was magical!

  • Noor K. — August 10, 2016 — Europe

Very well organized tour . I will recommend it to every one who wants to travel. Excellent tour.

  • Rebecca K. — August 10, 2016 — Europe

Jaclyn was the best!!! I have already referred her to a friend! She was quick responding and really listened to what we like! Definitely will use her again!

  • Razieh M. — August 10, 2016 — Europe

Absolutely outstanding service. We loved it. Very professional staff and timely with schedules. It saved us a lot of time and we got to see a lot more than we would have done had we done this all by ourselves.

  • Ann P. — August 10, 2016 — Europe

Great vacation. People in Iceland are wonderful, cordial, friendly.

  • Santanu D. — August 10, 2016 — Europe

Your tours are not inexpensive but worth every penny of the extra cost. You do your homework and the guides are superb. Your service during the trip is personal and responsive. I have seen this in three continents.
