Bratislava is the capital of Slovakia and also the country's largest city. It is located in southwestern Slovakia on both banks of the Danube River and is the only world capital that borders two countries: Austria and Hungary. Bratislava is the political, cultural and economic center of Slovakia. Take a grand tour of the city highlighted by Primatial Palace. Enjoy your second day with a tour to the wine-lands at the foot of the Small Carpathians. Wine tasting and entrance to museum is included.
Enjoy a private airport transfer.
Discover Bratislava and its most famous attractions on a walking tour with a private English speaking guide explaining the city’s fascinating history and culture. During the tour you guide will show you the Old Town highlights: St. Martin´s Cathedral (with entry), St. Michael´s Gate, Main Square with Old Town Hall and Statue of Roland, the first University Istropolitana from 15 century, the Primate´s Palace (with entry) famous for its beautiful collection of English tapestries depicting a love story from Greek history. Tour finishes at the historical Opera House and at Redoute - building of Slovak Philharmonics.
Today a guide will take you on the scenic Small Carpathian Wine Trail, introducing a region that has been known for its wine since the Roman times. Your guide will take you to the three towns of Pezinok, Modra, and Svätý Jur that were declared as Royal Cities due to their high quality wine productions in the 17th century. Besides wine, Modra has built a reputation for its tin-glazed and decorated pottery called Majolica. A stop at a local potter will show you how these crafts are manufactured. The highlight of this excursion may be is the visit to Červený Kameň, the wonderfully preserved Red Rock Castle with its huge multi-storey cellars that are among the largest ones in Central Europe. Entrance fees and wine tasting are included.
Directly on the bank of the River Danube and right in the historical centre of Bratislava you can find the Hotel Devin (4*) which has undoubtedly been part of the history of the capital city since 1954. Thanks to its significant architectural style the hotel is now deemed to be a jewel of functionalist style, however, the works of art of the most important Slovak artists can also be found here. The single and double rooms are equipped in a classical style and every room has everything you may need for your comfort - adjustable air-conditioning, TV set with wide selection of satellite programmes, internet connection and a mini-bar. Moreover, you may select from smoking and non-smoking rooms. Also, it is only up to you whether you want a view of the River Danube or Bratislava Castle and the city centre.

"Melissa Field was extremely helpful! She was courteous, professional, knowledgeable, and friendly! She kept me updated on the status of everything and provided timely correspondence. She took ownership for any problems I had and remedied them. I had the most amazing time of my life in Iceland and Paris! I would not have experienced everything without the help of Kensington Tours."

"All of our guides were beyond fabulous! Our time in Dublin was much too short, would have loved to stay there at least one more full day. Would recommend extending this package to 15 days for any future visits. The train to Edinburgh was super! Beautiful scenery and great steak pies!"

Really made for a great journey every time. Each hotel was clean, upgraded and staffed with knowledgeable and friendly folks. Breakfasts were complete -- almost too much to eat. It will always be a wonderful memory thanks to Kensington Tours."

"Overall, our tour in Spain was very enjoyable, and well planned and executed. Our private tour of the Alhambra was excellent. Virginia, tour guide for royal palace ruins outside of Cordoba, was also excellent. In Seville, we went to the Flamenco Show/dinner, and the Flamenco was outstanding!"

"My husband and I took a 3 week vacation to southern Europe and North Africa and had a great time. All the guides were very knowledgeable and bent over backwards to accommodate us. The arrangements made by Kensington went off without a hitch. This is our second trip with Kensington (we went to Peru in 2009) and we will certainly book with them again."

"Thank you for your follow up, we both loved our time in Croatia. It’s really a beautiful place, especially the coast. Your choice of hotels was great. It was an incredible view from the Bellevue hotel in Dubrovnik and the Vestibule in Split was in the best possible location. We were able to relax in our room listening to the wonderful singers in the courtyard and its central location made it so easy to walk anywhere we wanted to see with ease. "

"We just returned from a 10 day trip to Paris and Normandy. We spent three nights in Paris and then enjoyed a seven night cruise on the Seine to Normandy with AMA Waterways. The time in Paris was well spent and has piqued our interest to return for a more thorough visit. Guide Wafaa Lankey was superb in our visit to Versailles. The Seine cruise was relaxing and beautiful. So many wonderful little towns and we wished we had more time in each one to explore and enjoy.
We traveled to Croatia and Slovenia using Kensington earlier this year which was a fantastic trip."
