Take Spain tours through the vibrant city of Barcelona. Spanning just under 3-miles, Barcelona’s clean beaches may not be the reason for visiting the city, but the top-rated spots are just a little slice of heaven on earth.
Barceloneta, rated as the third best beach in the world by the Discovery Channel, is lined with restaurants, bars, hotels and residential buildings. But not to worry, the commercial buildings of this beach don’t take away from the relaxing Spanish flair.
Sant Sebastià is the city’s closest spot to the city center. White sand and clear, calm waters are a hotspot for visitors and locals alike. This beach is found on the eastern side of Barcelona, close to the Ciutat Vella district, one of the city’s oldest neighborhoods.
Beware, if traveling with children, Barcelona is home to a couple nude beaches. While opting for the “natural” way to sunbathe is legal throughout the city, Nova Mar Bella and La Mar Bella are known for their acceptance of the custom. However, La Mar Bella’s naturist beach is covered by bamboo hillock and the traditional beach side additionally has wind and kite surfing available for those seeking water adventure.
