A short trek is required, but visiting Fethiye’s rock tombs is worth it. The ancient stones are just a short walk up the Lycian rock tomb, and offer a spectacular view of the bay and marina. Fethiye is home to many beaches, but Calis’ sunset offers breathtaking colors. Known to have the best sunsets in the country, water taxis are available to head out into the waters for a romantic boat ride under purple, orange and pink skies. Traveling to beaches in the daytime is by no means lackluster as the sparkling water is as clear as a pool.
Oludeniz, or Blue Lagoon, has sparkling blue waters and white sands shimmering in the sun. The scenic location has crystal clear waters ideal for swimming with children, recreational activities or just basking in the bay. Nearby Patara beach is famous for its beautiful sand dunes cascading around sunbeams.
Getting a taste of the traditional lifestyle can be met at the city’s large market. An abundance of colorful fresh fruits and veggies line the aisles in the Fethiye market. The markets in the area aren’t just flourished with food, though. Shoppers can enjoy loads of goods around the streets including clothes, handbags and shoes.
