Welcome to Arena Hotel (4*), located in the old city part of Istanbul called Sultanahmet, which is known as one of the biggest open air museums of the world. It is a 19th century Ottoman stone house carefully restored to its original design and decoration. It consists of 30 rooms including 4 suites. The owner was born here. She has restored and decorated it to give guests a glimpse into the Istanbul of yesteryear. It is within walking distance of the Hippodrome, the Blue Mosque, Agia Sofia, the Grand Bazaar and the wonderful Topkapi Palace.
Arena Hotel Istanbul has been restored but none of the original character or points of interest have been touched. This gives guests a special treat during their stay in Istanbul. The hotel has been decorated with antique furniture so it's a historical museum in itself and the lobby contains a 2.5 metre 16th century 24 carat gold leaf mirror, 18th century Vienna console stone mirror with a hand-made frame and a Chinese esque hand embroidered silk prayer mat.
27 rooms, 54 beds, 4 suites. Fully air-conditioned and heated. All rooms come with full bath, direct dial telephone, wireless network system, hair-dryer, safe, cable TV, radio, and minibar. Most rooms have a sea view.
The Delight Restaurant is within easy walk to the main Hippodrome area, as well as the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sophia and the convenient public tram. The restaurant serves delicious Turkish and continental cuisine for lunch and dinner 7 days a week. Fresh fish is available every day. Wine lovers are most welcome to stay in this hotel for there is a variety of excellent Turkish wines. Guests are sure to find a traditional Turkish dessert at the end of the meal.
