The Arena Hotel (4*) is located in the old city part of Istanbul called Sultanahmet, which is known as one of the biggest open air museums in the world. The hotel is a 19th century Ottoman stone house carefully restored to its original design and decoration. It consists of 30 rooms including 4 suites. It is within walking distance of the Hippodrome, the Blue Mosque, Hagia Sofia, the Grand Bazaar, and the wonderful Topkapi Palace.
Arena Hotel has been restored but none of the original character or points of interest have been touched. This gives guests a special treat during their stay in Istanbul. The hotel has been decorated with antique furniture so it's a historical museum in itself and the lobby contains a 2.5 metre 16th century 24 carat gold leaf mirror, 18th century Vienna console stone mirror with a hand-made frame and a Chinese esque hand embroidered silk prayer mat.
Standard Rooms have furniture that has been specially designed with top surfaces from Denizli Marble, Iznik motif ceramics in the bathrooms, and hand-made carpets. The rooms are fully air-conditioned and heated and feature a mini-bar, satellite TV, hairdryer, direct-dial telephone, and a shower and bathtub.
This suite offers a very elegant decor with soft pastel tones, hardwood parquet floors, hand-made carpets as well as lavish drapes and fabrics. All of the furniture has been specially designed and topped with quality marble from Denizli. These superb guest rooms are the perfect base for a relaxing stay in the historic centre of Istanbul, most offer sea views. The en suite bathrooms which are decorated with fine Iznik ceramics offer all modern comfort and are well appointed.
Good Turkish and Continental cuisine is the very heart and soul of eastern Mediterranean cooking, which demands quality ingredients and careful preparation. From delicious mezes to elaborate vegetarian and seafood dishes, Istanbul caters across budgets and tastes. The Delight Restaurant serves delicious Turkish and continental cuisine for lunch and dinner 7 days a week.
The Turkish Bath with its domed ceiling and heated floors has four original marble basing's along with magnificent examples of hand-decorated wall ceramics. In the cooling down area, there is a vitamin bar in front of an antique stone wall. The spa also offers several different types of massages.
