Portmeirion is an Italianate resort village in Gwynedd, on the coast of Snowdonia in Wales. Sir Clough Williams-Ellis, Portmeirion's designer, was said to have loved the Portmeirion's sister city in Italy so much that he designed it to pay tribute to the atmosphere of the Mediterranean.
