Overview

Moraine Lake Lodge is situated in Banff National Park in the Canadian Rocky Mountains. The Arthur Erickson designed lodge is a post-and-beam log structure graced with grand windows providing breathtaking vistas of the snow-capped mountains and glacier-fed lake. An altitude of 6,300 feet puts you in the very heart of the Canadian Rocky Mountains. Guests are steeped in a natural setting that offers canoeing, hiking, nature-watching, climbing and photography. Dining ranges from high-country elegant to Rocky Mountain casual. Steps from their rooms, guests staying at Moraine Lake Lodge are treated to the stunning beauty and pristine splendor of the iridescent turquoise-coloured Moraine Lake and the Valley of the Ten Peaks, a sight visitors from all over the world come to see. Open June through to the end of September, Moraine Lake Lodge, near Lake Louise, is 40 miles (65 km) from Banff, Alberta. The area is abundant in spectacular sights, activities and geological history.

Lodge Queen

Lodge Queen rooms on the upper floor of the Main Lodge offer one queen bed and an antique gas fireplace. Adjoining Rooms are available.

Deluxe Cabin

New Deluxe Cabins offer either one king or two twin size beds, heritage fir wood floors, fabulous bathrooms, and a sunken living area surrounding a river rock wood burning fireplace.

Walter Wilcox Dining Room

The Walter Wilcox Dining Room at Moraine Lake Lodge offers a unique, elegant menu showcasing the best cuisine from the region. Signature dishes include buffalo carpacchio with roasted pine nuts and deer tenderloin with red currants and juniper berries. Wine-lovers will delight in the impressive wine cellar, including Canadian and American vintages. Graced by a large stone fireplace and an elegant Rocky Mountain interior, views of Moraine Lake through the massive windows in the atrium provide a spectacular vista.

The Snowshoe Café

The Snowshoe Café offers a variety of deli foods, fresh baked pastries, hot and cold meals, beverages, snacks and ice creams.

Moraine Lake Lodge Activities

Guests are encouraged to explore the incredible National Park environment. For guests wishing to explore the park on foot there are literally hundreds of fabulous trails each of which has a unique experience. The staff, managers, and owners have hiked most of these trails and would love to make a recommendation to you. For the visitor who has a limited time frame to explore the park, you may wish to view the park using some rather unique exploration vehicles. While staying in the lodge you can choose from helicopters, snow coaches, gondolas, jet boats, ATVs, canoes, river rafts and other forms of transportation. All these activities combine a unique experience with a learning experience based on the unique World Heritage Site you are visiting.
